About this role
We are seeking a Vice President of Product to help deliver and grow the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), with a focus ondeliveringour capabilities to support unstructured data. In this role, you will collaborate with product managersacross EDPto developtheproductvision and define the execution strategy. You will partner with engineeringand program management teamsto drive the delivery of these capabilities and help define, develop, and deliver thecapabilities for our Unstructured Datadomain.You will engage with platform users to understand their business needs, use cases, requirements, and priorities; define a product offering that meets those needs; work with UX designers and the broader EDP team to create a positive user experience; support platform adoption; and objectively measure its success.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Vision:Establishand articulate a clear strategic roadmap forthecapabilitiesyou oversee, aligned to the business outcomes of the key team members and to EDP’s product and technical architecture.
- Product Management: Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to delivery, ensuring thetimelyand successful release of features and enhancements. Participate in agile ceremonies, manage the product backlog, and support testing activities to ensure quality and alignment with user needs.
- Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal and external partners - including adopters, engineering teams, and business analysts - to gather requirements and to scope and prioritize the build work.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, market offerings, and customer feedback to inform product decisions andmaintainour competitive edge.
- User Experience: Champion a user-centric, low-friction user experience for adopters and their customers, focusing on EDP’s usability, intuitiveness, and overall user satisfaction.
- Adoption and Evangelism: Help to promote EDP’s adoption across the organization. Provide training, documentation, and support as needed. Act as a vocal advocate for EDP both internally and externally.
- Performance Monitoring:Establishkey performance indicators and metrics to track the business value delivered by EDP’s components. Iterate based on insights and feedback.
- Product Team Development: Help to mentor and grow the next generation of BlackRock product managers, and mature the team’s operating model and working practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a product management role,experiencedeveloping cloud-based data platforms or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) productspreferred.
- Must have demonstratable experience in at leasttwoof these product areas, delivering in a corporate environment and ideally as part of a data platform build: Data engineering at scale, Acquiringand transforming unstructured/multimodaldataas part of engineered pipelines,Preparing data for machine learningat scale Integrating data withAIdeveloper platform products
- Must be credible engaging with technical audiencesthat work with unstructured data.
- Experience workingin aglobally distributed product management and engineering teams.
- Consistent record of successfully leading product development within complex enterprise environments.
- Experience leading the definition and development of commercial products and go-to-market strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability toacquireand translate data-driven insights into actionable product strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability toactivelyengageandinfluence both technical and business partners at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with global cross-functional teams in a scaled agile development environment.
- Experience using industry standard product management tools and technologies, e.g. Aha, Miro, Visio, Microsoft ADO, PowerPoint.
- Experience in any of the following strongly preferred:AI quality and lifecycle, Retrieval and search, Data governance and quality,LLM Ops / AI Ops ,Platform reliability
