Role Summary
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Java and AWS technologies.
- Develop and support RESTful APIs, backend services, and cloud-native solutions to meet business requirements.
- Build and maintain frontend, backend, and batch-processing components of the Charitable Gifting platform.
- Design, optimize, and manage database solutions using Aurora, RDS, Redshift, and SQL.
- Participate in platform modernization initiatives, feature enhancements, and application upgrades.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable technology solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support incident resolution activities.
- Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and operational stability through best engineering practices.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support knowledge transition, operational readiness, and long-term ownership of the Vanguard Charitable Gifting Application
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and back-end architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
- Expertise in server-side development, system integration, and API management; strong knowledge of database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Java application development.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Proficiency in AWS Cloud Services, including Aurora, RDS, and Redshift.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database design, development, and optimization.
- Experience with batch processing frameworks such as AWS Glue, Control-M, or similar tools.
- Understanding of cloud-native application architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with application support, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with React.js /Angular nfor frontend development - Good to have
- Experience working in Financial Services, Wealth Management, or Investment platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
Location
This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
