Alternative Ops Fund Accounting, Associate 2

Who we are looking for:

Associate 2 Fund Accountant will be responsible for independently processing investment activity accounting entries, preparing and reviewing reconciliations, and supporting the completion of accurate and timely NAV packages and supporting schedules for alternative investment funds. The role also involves investigating routine operational issues, and providing support to junior team members.

The team you will be joining is part of Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS), a recognized provider of fund accounting and administration services to alternative investment clients. Our team provides end-to-end support for North American clients, with a focus on private equity, Fund of Fund and other complex investment structures. Our team supports key fund operations, including investment activity processing, valuation, NAV package production, and audit-related activities.

What you will be responsible for:

As Associate 2 you will:               

•            Perform and assist reviewing of investment reconciliations and cash reconciliations

•            Independently Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks and other operational issues

•            Prepare reconciliations and perform first-level reviews when assigned

•            Execute key controls and promptly escalate identified issues

•            Demonstrate ownership of assigned funds and related processes

•            Assist with training and coaching staff

•            Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and error prevention mindset

•            Participate in system testing, automation, and process improvement activities when assigned

What we value:
•            Basic understanding of accounting principles and fund structures.

•            Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

•            Positive attitude, willingness to learn and openness to feedback.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

•            Bachelor's degree in Business, accounting or related field.

•            Approx  1-2 years related experience in a fund accounting environment, including knowledge of
               cash and position reconciliation in funds

•            Excellent attention to detail

•            Strong numerical / analytical skills

•            Excellent communication skills

•            Organized and Deadline-driven

•            Good team player, with supervisory experience a distinct advantage
