KYC Operations Senior Manager - Vice President

The KYC Operations Senior Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to provide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, governance, oversight and regulatory reporting services in coordination with the Compliance and Control team. The overall objective of this role is to drive the development and management of a dedicated internal KYC (Know Your Client) program at Citi.

Responsibilities:

• Provide senior oversight of KYC Operations teams, senior point of escalation for the team and its stakeholders, represent the KYC function in senior management discussions and key stakeholder meeting across the business, compliance and operations and serve as central point of coordination for vendor strategy and third party interactions
• Serve as key contributor to the Global KYC strategy and partner with the Global Management team to develop a target operating model encompassing people, process and technology
• Ensure effective governance of tasks and processes with reference to internal policy and external regulation
• Partner with global Compliance and KYC teams to interpret and implement new Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and work toward developing consistent processes and practices
• Develop the ongoing KYC training plan to develop and enhance staff knowledge of business and product
• Manage KYC Operations project book of work, including strategic program roll out and system enhancements
• Manage and assess impact of operational implementation of technology and policy change and drives continuous improvements to quality of data and client service levels
• Create efficiencies through on-going utilization of low cost centers for data management
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Ability to manage teams. 
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Skills:

• AI Literacy: Demonstrated understanding of core AI concepts, including machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and generative AI, and their potential impact on the business.
• AI Acumen - The ability to identify and articulate opportunities for leveraging AI technologies to solve business problems and improve processes
• Ethical AI Awareness: Familiarity with the ethical considerations, potential biases, and responsible use of artificial intelligence in a business context
• Proven ability to work independently and be self-starter
• Exceptional organization and process management ability
• Intermediate technical skills including intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and work within tight and changeable timeframe while still maintaining high level of accuracy
• Strong analytical skills and time management skills, excellent attention to details
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and aptitude in communicating with senior management
• Ability to work with internal stakeholders (e.g. Coverage, Quality Assurance, Compliance) & partners (e.g. Training, Communications, Senior Management) to develop and execute on process enhancements and simplifications
• Demonstrated effectiveness process management – in particular target setting, prioritization and operational effectiveness
• Ability to work well under pressure and tight time frames
• MIS and metrics and efficiency analysis skills – ability to benchmark and track performance improvement
• Pro-active, flexible, have good organizational skills and must be team player.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment

Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of experience in KYC
• Experience in managing people and team leads
• Good command of reading and writing English.
• Good PC skills with ability to pick up new software systems.
• Co-operative, proactive with high sense of responsibility & teamwork
• Ability to work under pressure and in a volatile environment
• Attention to details with high accuracy in work; Strive for process improvement.
• Display the ability to prioritize effectively to meet routine processing deadlines
• Flexible enough to work as per Business timings.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master's degree preferred
