The role of a Regulatory Compliance Senior Associate is critical in ensuring that PwC’s adheres to both local and foreign regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include managing the application and renewal of various licenses, preparing and submitting regulatory reports and supporting leadership with compliance-related reporting.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks. Timely submissions are essential to maintaining compliance, avoiding legal or financial penalties, and demonstrating our commitment to regulatory integrity to both regulators and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
License Application and Reporting:
Prepare andsubmitlicenceapplicationsrequired by local and foreign regulatorsina timelyandaccuratemanner.
Compile andsubmitregulatoryreports in compliance withapplicablerequirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence tospecified deadlines.
Maintain a comprehensiveandorganisedrecord of all licensing activities andrelateddocumentation.
Continuouslymonitorthe firm’scompliance withlocal and foreign regulatory obligations.
Identifyareasforimprovement and recommend corrective actions tostrengthcompliance, includingopportunities forautomationand process enhancements.
License RenewalandPayment Management:
Monitorlicenceexpirationdates to ensuretimelyrenewals andassociatedpayments.
Coordinate with relevant internal and external stakeholders tocollect thenecessary documentation and informationrequiredfor renewal and paymentprocesses.
Proactivelyidentifyand resolveany issues or discrepancies that may arise during the renewal processto avoid delays or non-compliance.
Regulatory Assessment andLicenceApplication:
Assess newand evolvingregulatory requirements for license applications, both local and foreign, based on current andanticipatedbusiness needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams todeterminethe necessity of specificlicencesandinitiatethe application processwhereapplicable.
Stayinformed ofchanges in regulatory requirements and ensure thefirm’s licensing strategy alignedwithupdated requirements.
Leadership Reporting:
Support thepreparationand presentation ofcompliancereportsfor leadership review.
Provide leadership withtimelyand relevantinsightsbased on compliance data and regulatorychanges.
Qualification and experience:
Bachelor’sdegree in any disciplineand/ora professionalaccounting qualification.
Minimum of3years’experience inlicensing, operations,regulatory compliance, legal ora relatedfield.
Strong understanding ofrelevantlaws,regulationsand compliance frameworks.
Key skills:
Meticulous attention to detailand ability todeliverhigh standardsofaccuracyandconsistency.
Proficient in written and verbal communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Strong analytical andproblem-solvingskills,with the ability tointerpreteregulations and assess their impact on the firm.
Strong organizational and time-managementabilities, capable of managingmultiple tasks andmeetingdeadlines.
Ability to assess and mitigate risksrelated to non-compliance.
Ability to build andmaintaineffectiverelationships withinternal and externalstakeholders
Capable ofworkingindependently andcollaboratively within ateamenvironment.
Demonstrate discretion and integrity inhandllingsensitiveandconfidentialinformation.
Proficiencyin compliance-related software,toolsand systems.
