Government Health Consulting Financial Analyst - College Program 2027

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Government Human Consulting (GHC) team with Marsh Health & Benefits . This role will be based in Phoenix, AZ, Seattle, WA, Minneapolis, MN or Atlanta GA. This is a hybridrolethat has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Medicaid is a government-sponsored health insurance program in the United States designed to provide healthcare coverage to low-income individuals and families. As a consulting firm specializing in Medicaid, MarshMarsh Health & Benefits GHC team assists state governments in optimizing their Medicaid programs. Our team plays a vital role in managing and analyzing Medicaid claims data to enhance patient access to care, improve cost efficiency, and elevate the quality of services provided to these individuals. We will count on you to: 

Perform comprehensive analysis of health care, financial and other detail data using spreadsheet and database management software, with most time spent in Excel

Assist in the development of reports, spreadsheets, and presentations

Work on multifaceted projects to build a better understanding of health care delivery systems, specifically government-sponsored health and welfare programs such as Medicaid and Medicare

Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic consulting environment with colleagues across the practice at all levels

Collaborate with colleagues on smaller teams, with opportunities to support other projects and clients depending on practice needs

What you need to have: 

A bachelor’s degree with graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 and concentration in economics, finance, accounting, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related analytical major

Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0

Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative 

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience using formulas and functions to organize, analyze and interpret data with a strong desire to work in complex financial and actuarial models

Knowledge of data analysis, project management, and presentation design

Intellectual curiosity

Ability to work collaboratively on a team

Your first four weeks will include a structured analyst development program designed to build on the Excel and analytical skills you bring to Mercer and prepare you to apply them to complex healthcare financial consulting work, through hands-on exercises and a capstone project

You’ll gradually gain exposure to client work throughout the program, allowing you to apply what you’re learning and transition into meaningful project responsibilities.

The applicable salary for this role is $68,000 in Phoenix and Minneapolis and $73,000 in Atlanta and Seattle.
