Your Opportunity
Our National Tax Practice is looking for a Director to join their team. The successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:
Keeping current on Canadian income tax developments that primarily affect Domestic tax clients
Communicating these developments to the Tax Service Line and Tax Compliance Professionals, and externally
Primarily responsible ensuring there are tax-centred, client focused articles on bdo.ca
Regular external communication to clients/potential clients/about income tax developments
Weekly internal communication to both Tax Professionals and Tax Compliance Professionals
Organizing and facilitating monthly webinars for the Tax Service Line
Developing content for and presenting to Tax Compliance Professionals
Keeping database of technical matters current - internal
Managing both professional and administrative staff in support positions
Reviewing tools used in Tax Compliance for technical accuracy and for relevant content
Serving as a firm reference for information on new tax developments
Ad hoc work includes serving as a firm reference for information on new tax developments, reviewing presentation material for external presentations or conferences, assisting with development of tax compliance tools

Your experience and education
10 years of experience working in Canadian Income Tax in public practice as a CPA or as a barrister or solicitor
Completion of the In-Depth Tax Course, a Masters of Tax or an LLB
Proven excellence in written communication of technical subject matter
Ability to read and interpret income tax legislation
Ability to prepare summaries of relevant income tax developments for different audiences – i.e tax professionals, tax compliance professionals and client audience
Excellent oral communication skills
Attention to detail to ensure that the meaning of the legislation is properly reflected in communications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to be flexible to meet the demands of the role
