Job Summary

• Northern Trust is seeking a Credit Risk professional with strong technical expertise in SAS, Python and understanding of CECL, CCAR stress testing process.
• The role offers high visibility, frequent interaction with senior credit risk leadership, Data, IT, Controllers and Northern’s auditors.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end ownership of CECL and CCAR model execution processes, including oversight of model adjustments, overlays, governance reviews, and presentation of results, risks, and recommendations to senior management and governance committees.
• Lead complex quantitative analyses, scenario assessments, overlay quantification and sensitivity testing to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Lead collaboration with Risk, Finance, Model Development, Model Validation, Technology, Accounting Policy and Auditors
• Establish and maintain a robust control environment, ensuring compliance with SOX, Internal Audit, and Regulatory requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating operational and model risks.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for system enhancements, model implementations, and change management activities, ensuring delivery quality and effective risk management.
• Lead large-scale transformation initiatives, platform migrations, and enterprise testing programs impacting risk modeling, data infrastructure, and regulatory reporting processes.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical excellence, innovation, and a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational resilience.
• Drive automation, process optimization, and adoption of emerging technologies to enhance scalability, efficiency, and control effectiveness across regulatory stress testing and allowance estimation processes.

Knowledge / Experience Required:

• 10+ years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Regulatory Reporting, Credit Risk Analytics, Stress Testing, Model Risk Management, or related disciplines, including leadership responsibilities.
•  Deep expertise in CECL, CCAR, Stress Testing, Regulatory Reporting, with demonstrated experience interpreting regulatory expectations and driving execution.
• Extensive experience leading complex analytical and technology initiatives utilizing SAS Viya, SAS, Python, SQL, Cloud-based analytics platforms, and data management technologies.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale regulatory programs, model implementations, platform migrations, and cross-functional transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting complex analytical results, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, governance committees, and regulators.
• Advanced analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights and strategic decisions.
