As a Software Engineering Group Manager within PNC's SRC-Site Reliability organization, you will be based in one of our Technology offices in Dallas, TX, Strongsville, OH, Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Phoenix, AZ, Birmingham, AL or Houston, TX. Weekly time in the office is needed

The Site Reliability Center (SRC) is focused on establishing a culture of operational excellence by ensuring infrastructure, platforms, and applications adhere to SRC onboarding standards that improve reliability, enable proactive issue resolution, and reduce customer impact. This role supports the vision of building a collaborative technology organization across application, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver a stable, reliable, and secure environment. Key responsibilities include driving customer-centric service improvements, implementing proactive and preventative reliability practices, fostering cross-functional collaboration, enhancing monitoring and observability capabilities, promoting a blameless culture of continuous learning, and reducing operational toil through automation. The ideal candidate will help improve service performance, strengthen operational resiliency, and advance automation and observability initiatives that enhance the overall customer experience.

Provide technical leadership in production support; serve as an escalation point for complex production issues; guide troubleshooting across: applications, infrastructure (Linux/Windows), databases (Oracle, SQL), middleware and integrations; ensure efficient log, metric, and system analysis; oversee batch/ETL monitoring and recovery processes; foster strong collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and vendor teams.

• Provide after-hours operational leadership and on-call support. Participate in an on-call leadership rotation supporting critical production services, major incidents, and high-severity customer-impacting events. Availability outside standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to support incident response, change events, escalations, and business continuity needs.PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. Job Description

• Manages multiple development projects, development groups and/or application support functions for a major business segment.
• Oversees the development and implementation of multiple, complex, organization-wide systems .
• Allocates and ensures resource arrangements during the application development life cycle .
• Maintains relationships with clients to ensure the implementation quality of application systems .
• Provides solutions or recommendations on complicated technology issues for application development and implementation .

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $146,300.00 – $271,700.00Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
