What you'll do:
As a KYC Analyst Japanese Speaker based in London, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that span both banking and securities divisions under a dual-hat arrangement. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting comprehensive due diligence reviews for new client relationships as well as existing business partners. You will meticulously perform bribery and corruption checks, maintain precise records of customer categorisation, and ensure suitability assessments align with regulatory frameworks such as MiFiD, EMIR, and Dodd Frank Act. By actively participating in Lean-On-Boarding initiatives, you will contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency while upholding rigorous compliance standards. Your vigilance in identifying risks during periodic reviews will be crucial in safeguarding the organisation’s reputation. Additionally, you will facilitate system updates for non-KYC entries and provide valuable support on ad hoc projects within the Client Management Services team. - Conduct thorough 'Know Your Customer' due diligence reviews within prescribed cycles to ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering policies and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Perform detailed bribery and corruption checks for prospective transactions involving existing clients, identifying potential reputational, business, or sanction risks.
- Maintain accurate records of customer categorisation and suitability assessments for all applicable clients, ensuring products and services provided are appropriate under MiFiD, EMIR, Dodd Frank Act, and other regulations.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve the onboarding process by strengthening controls and enhancing efficiency through Lean-On-Boarding initiatives.
- Build knowledge within the Anti-Money Laundering sector by understanding underlying policy requirements and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Identify and escalate risks or issues during periodic or event-driven reviews to line management promptly.
- Assist the business when changes occur in existing customer profiles by conducting interim partial assessments, updating systems, and escalating as necessary.
- Facilitate the setup of non-KYC entries into relevant systems, ensuring data accuracy and robust controls for Guarantors, Non-trading roles, or duplicate entries.
- Support other team members on ad hoc projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to share expertise.
- Provide administrative assistance to the wider Client Management Services team as needed.
