West Monroe is seeking a Managing Director to join our Healthcare & Life Sciences practice, focused on healthcare providers. This executive will help lead and grow our national Provider business, advising organizations ranging from large health systems delivering a broad continuum of services to specialized providers, including home and community-based care. The Managing Director will serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, originate and expand strategic client relationships, lead complex enterprise transformations, and shape differentiated capabilities that strengthen West Monroe’s position in the healthcare market.
What You Will Do
Client Delivery
- Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite and senior healthcare executives, bringing deep provider expertise and an understanding of the strategic, operational, technology, and organizational issues shaping healthcare.
- Provide executive leadership for complex, enterprise-level transformations, connecting healthcare market dynamics and client priorities to strategies that improve performance, operations, patient and workforce experiences, and organizational capabilities.
- Maintain executive oversight of client outcomes, engagement quality, financial performance, staffing, risk, and senior stakeholder relationships.
- Mobilize and develop high-performing teams, providing executive direction, coaching, and quality oversight.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
- Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
Business Development
- Originate, shape, and close significant transformation opportunities with existing and prospective healthcare provider clients.
- Build and expand trusted C-suite relationships across health systems and specialized provider organizations.
- Grow strategic accounts by identifying emerging executive priorities and connecting clients with capabilities across West Monroe.
- Lead pursuits from opportunity identification and solution strategy through executive presentations, negotiations, and closing.
- Strengthen West Monroe’s position in the healthcare market through executive relationships, industry participation, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership.
Practice Development
- Define and execute growth priorities, go-to-market strategies, offerings, and investments for the Provider business.
- Develop differentiated intellectual capital, methodologies, solutions, and market perspectives aligned with evolving healthcare needs.
- Build healthcare expertise across the practice through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and development of the next generation of leaders.
- Attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.
What You Will Bring
- 12+ years of healthcare consulting, provider strategy, operations, transformation, or related experience, including leadership of complex transformations and executive client relationships.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare provider organizations, including health systems and/or specialized settings such as home and community-based care.
- Demonstrated success advising C-suite executives on strategic, operational, technology, and transformation priorities.
- Proven success originating significant opportunities, expanding strategic accounts, leading complex pursuits, and driving revenue growth.
- Strong commercial and executive engagement leadership, including accountability for client outcomes, financial performance, quality, and risk.
- Ability to translate healthcare market trends and executive priorities into differentiated solutions and growth opportunities.
- Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Ability to travel 25 to 50%.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range for this role is listed below. Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity. Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale.
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
