Lead Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst - Power BI Development

Wells Fargo is seeking Lead Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join the Enterprise Functions FP&A team. This role will report directly to the Business Aligned Finance Manager and serve as a key leader in advancing finance transformation, automation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives across Enterprise Functions Finance.

In this role, you will:

• Lead complex initiatives on matters related to financial research, analysis, and reporting
• Make decisions in multi-faceted situations, providing advice and technical expertise on matters related to complex financial analysis and forecasting as well as economic research in support of management decision making functions
• Research strategies and make recommendations for forward financial planning as well as enhancing reporting systems to support the production of financial reporting and analysis
• Provide support to more experienced professionals in the management of budgeting analysis, forecasting analysis, variance analysis, variance commentary, reporting and reviews, and presentation and project preparation
• Review and analyze complex technical challenges that require evaluation or multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
• Make decisions in maintaining effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standards and internal control standards
• Meet deliverables and drive new initiatives with solid understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Chartered Accountant or a related field.
• Strong experience in Finance, FP&A, Finance Transformation, Business Intelligence, Process Improvement, or a related field.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, visualization design, and reporting automation.
• Strong experience developing workflows and automations using Power Automate and other low-code/no-code solutions.
• Experience leveraging AI-enabled solutions, including Microsoft Copilot or similar technologies, to improve business processes and productivity.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, Power Query, VBA/macros, large data set management, and automation techniques.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-wide projects, finance transformation initiatives, process redesign efforts, or operational excellence programs.
• Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies, challenge existing processes, and implement scalable solutions that improve business outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
• Experience working with financial planning, forecasting, management reporting, expense management, headcount planning, and performance analytics.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence partners across Finance, Technology, Operations, and other business functions.
• Experience working in a large, complex, highly matrixed organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create executive-ready presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with finance modernization, reporting standardization, data governance, digital transformation, continuous improvement methodologies, or operational excellence frameworks preferred.

Job Expectation:

• Support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of Enterprise Functions Finance reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytics tools utilizing Power BI and related Microsoft technologies.
• Analyze existing finance workflows and lead continuous improvement efforts to standardize processes, improve data quality, strengthen controls, and reduce cycle times across planning, forecasting, reporting, and management review activities.
• Drive automation initiatives across Enterprise Functions Finance by leveraging Power Automate, Copilot, Excel VBA, and other emerging technologies to simplify processes, eliminate manual activities, and improve controls.
• Partner with finance teams across Enterprise Functions to identify process improvement opportunities and deliver technology-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, scalability, and reporting consistency.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for finance reporting and automation capabilities, providing guidance and support to business partners and finance users.
• Assistance / lead complex cross-functional projects focused on finance transformation, operational excellence, reporting modernization, and automation adoption.
• Work closely with FP&A leadership, Finance Transformation teams, Technology partners, and Finance stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and execute strategic initiatives.
• Develop executive-level dashboards, visualizations, and management reporting that translate large, complex data sets into actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Evaluate emerging AI and analytics capabilities, including Microsoft Copilot solutions, and identify opportunities to enhance finance processes, reporting, forecasting, and decision support.
• Create and maintain governance, documentation, and standard operating procedures supporting automated finance processes, reporting assets, and analytics solutions.
• Support strategic finance initiatives by performing advanced data analysis, scenario modeling, trend analysis, and ad hoc reporting to enable business decision-making.
• Act as a catalyst for innovation and modernization across Enterprise Functions Finance by promoting best practices, fostering adoption of automated solutions, and championing a continuous improvement mindset.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining innovative finance reporting, analytics, and intelligent automation solutions. Leveraging emerging AI technologies, advanced analytics, and digital productivity tools, this individual will partner across Enterprise Functions FP&A and EF Finance teams to identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting transparency, reduce manual effort, strengthen decision support, and drive standardization through scalable, technology-enabled solutions.

This role requires a unique blend of strong FP&A knowledge, technical expertise, strategic thinking, and change leadership. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting or leading cross-functional or enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and possess the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, automated solutions that improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
