Job overview: The AI Hub is our centre of excellence for delivering a significant portfolio of responsible AI and Automation solutions, that create measurable difference across the UK business. We’re looking for an experienced and proactive AI Lead to take the reins as product owner for our AI delivery and capability. You'll drive end to end delivery, converting innovative ideas into practical solutions that are adopted at scale. As the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, you’ll own the backlog and ensure that solutions are delivered to the right standard of quality, safely and on time. You'll also ensure that the value we committed to is delivered through scaled user adoption. As the portfolio expands, you’ll play a key role in scaling our delivery model with it. Key responsibilities: Own the end-to-end AI backlog, prioritising based on value, feasibility, risk, dependencies and team capacity. Lead multiple concurrent programmes from proof of concept through to production deployment, adoption and scaling, ensuring disciplined delivery and proactive risk management. Collaborate with business, product, data science, engineering and architecture teams to define use cases, technical solutions, integration patterns and trade-offs, ensuring appropriate AI techniques are applied. Deliver production-ready GenAI and agentic solutions with robust data preparation, evaluation, MLOps, testing, monitoring and lifecycle management, including controls for safety, hallucination, costs, tokens and human oversight. Act as a trusted delivery partner across various functions, managing expectations around scope, timelines, costs and risks, while driving adoption through communication, training and change management. Develop and improve the operating model, standards, tooling and playbooks, balancing capacity and demand, coaching teams, managing partners and incorporating emerging AI trends to enhance capability. Ensure compliance with governance, responsible AI principles, privacy, security and regulatory requirements, working closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal and Data Governance teams. Define benefits and adoption metrics for each use case, monitor delivery outcomes, provide senior leadership with portfolio reports, and advise on scaling, sustaining or retiring solutions. Work arrangements: At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) from December 2026. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. Your skills & experience: Previous experience in an AI and product management role. Demonstrable success in managing AI and ML use cases that deliver measurable business value throughout the entire delivery lifecycle, from ideation to scaling. Technical expertise in AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG/CAG, SLMs, distillation models, and Agentic AI architectures. Leadership ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams at various levels within AXA. In-depth knowledge of the Insurance sector, understanding key value areas, pain points, and the existing data landscape. Strategic thinker with future-focused insights to ensure AXA’s AI ambitions remain relevant and innovative. Ability to craft compelling narratives for senior leadership and stakeholders. Passionate about AI, with a commitment to mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of innovation.
