(Senior) Data Engineer

At AXA Partners, you’ll join our Data Team and work with international colleagues to help shape our data-driven future. As a Data Engineer, you’ll develop modern data solutions, ensure reliable data flows and continuously improve our Data Platform – from development through to stable production operations. This position is open for our locations in Cologne or Ostrava. What you’ll be doing: Contribute to and help deliver our Data Roadmap, working closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, Business Teams and other Data Teams Design, develop and automate scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing Further develop our cloud-based data platform using Microsoft Azure and Databricks Build and optimize modern data ingestion processes, ETL pipelines, datamarts and Data Lake solutions Ensure data quality, availability and performance through monitoring, automation and proven Data Engineering practices Support the migration to new data platform Ensure the reliable operation of existing data solutions and analyze and resolve technical challenges Collaborate closely with local and international Data Teams and actively share knowledge within our Data Community Support and mentor Junior Data Engineers while contributing to the development of Data Engineering standards and best practices What you’ll bring: Experience in Data Engineering, including the development and operation of modern data pipelines Hands-on experience with ETL processes as well as batch and real-time data processing Experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks Knowledge of Data Lakes, datamarts and modern data architectures A good understanding of data quality, monitoring and the reliable operation of production data solutions An interest in collaborating with Data Scientists, Analysts, Business Teams and international colleagues An independent, solution-oriented way of working and a willingness to take ownership Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus A passion for sharing knowledge and supporting the professional development of colleagues What we offer: At AXA Partners, we’re appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that.
