What you'll do
You will work alongside senior knowledge professionals on large client projects and internal knowledge initiatives in banking.
By collecting and analyzing data and information found in databases and/or other primary and secondary research tools, you will assemble a fact base, counsel consultants and clients on the scope of business and economic trends surrounding the issue and provide insights and analysis for solving client problems at hand.
Your day-to-day tasks may include identifying the key issues facing our clients and determining the most appropriate solution while effectively balancing quality, availability, timeliness, and cost factors. You’ll likely perform a variety of analyses such as benchmarking, trend identification, opportunity scanning, etc., to add value to problem-solving discussions. You’ll also provide synthesis, insights and client implications within tight deadlines via end products in the form of PowerPoint documents, written memos, models in Excel and frameworks. Your work will include research, analysis, problem solving (conceptual and analytical) providing recommendations for our clients, working with other colleagues and with our clients to deliver impact.
In time, you will also participate in, and eventually lead, internal knowledge development and capability-building initiatives, and leverage as needed GenAI and advanced analytics tools to prepare and analyze large datasets and distill insights.
You will be part of our EEMA Client Capabilities Network (CCN) and will work closely with local regional team colleagues with whom you will be collaborating daily.
Your focus will be on banking for the Middle East region. Within the team, you will be a part of the capability providing insights on the market including the macro economy, and the public and private sector landscape. McKinsey leaders will offer you sponsorship and mentor you to build your capabilities.
Your work includes extensive travel within the Middle-East region to serve our clients across locations, incl. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar.
Our client capabilities professionals across the globe work alongside our consultants from other consulting tracks to deliver Change that Matters to our clients, both remotely and at client sites, in an agile and targeted way. Further, they are core to our firm’s R&D, development of new knowledge, building of proprietary capabilities as assets and data sets. Our portfolio includes state-of-the-art research, data-backed rapid diagnostics, benchmarking, and workflow support while our professionals have deep expertise and apply a broad range of methodologies to address specialized on-demand analyses.
Your background
- 1+ years of experience preferred in banking / fintech or in research and analysis for business decision making
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to accomplish work in fast-paced and dynamic environments
- Ability to work well in a team setting and across all levels within an organization
- Demonstrated relevant research experience in an academic or business setting
- Proficiency with GenAI for core tasks preferred and valued (e.g. research, basic analytics, simple task automation, communication refinement)
