Job Title: Tax Junior, Associate and Senior – Indirect Tax & Payroll (South Africa)

Location: Mauritius (supporting South African clients)

Service Line: Indirect Tax & Payroll Compliance

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Indirect Tax and Payroll team, supporting South African clients. The role involves end-to-end VAT compliance, payroll tax processing, and client service delivery in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review VAT returns in line with SARS requirements
• Perform VAT reconciliations, including input/output VAT analysis
• Manage monthly payroll tax compliance, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL submissions
• Ensure timely e-filing submissions and payments to SARS
• Review and validate client data (AR/AP schedules, payroll inputs)
• Handle tax registrations, deregistrations, and amendments
• Support SARS queries, verifications, and audits
• Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve queries and ensure accurate reporting
• Maintain proper documentation and audit-ready working papers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
