Senior Manager, Data Engineer - Collections

The Role

Leads a team in charge of data modelling, development and integration; as well as projects to optimize/improve Collections’ data infrastructure. Works collaboratively with partners in different geographies and functions -particularly IT, to advance initiatives and drive results.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Owns, executes and updates the data models, infrastucture and ETLs ensuring standardization and scalability
• Leads a team of data engineers providing technical leadership, solution modelling, design, and coaching.
• Partners with data and business teams across the organization to understand and integrate data, building powerful data models and automaded processes
• Leads the building of automated data management and data quality capabilities, re-using components to scale development across countries, collaborating with other data, technical teams to streamline high-value data to the Polaris platform
• Defines and executes strategies to design and create architecture of data models, data structures, schemas and data views critical to build, implement and enhance reports, business intelligence and analytics capabilities across the division.
• Incorporates Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in all day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
• Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Statistics or related technical field required
• 10+ years related work experience in data management, analysis, automation of processes.
• Expert knowledge SQL2008/2012/2014//2016/2017 knowledge (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers, index, view
• Strong knowledge of Databricks / SQL / SAS / PBi and experience working with at least one of the major databases platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, Sybase, or Postgres)
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients, synthesize complex or diverse information, and use intuition and experience to articulate business needs
• Strong leadership competencies in communication, cross-cultural leadership
• Knowledge of the Bank’s Retail & Small Business collections policies and procedures
• Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish a strong asset  
• Strong knowledge in Windows based operating systems
• A team player, self-motivated, solution driven individual and adaptable to fast-pace environment.
