M&A Human Capital Due Diligence, Sr Consultant

Deloitte is seeking an M&A Human Capital Senior Manager to lead organization, talent, leadership, culture, and change priorities across complex integrations and separations. You will partner with life sciences and healthcare executive clients to translate transaction strategy into practical people solutions and measurable outcomes.

Work You’ll Do

As an M&A Integration and Divestiture (I&D) Senior Manager on the Human Capital Life Sciences and Health Care (LSHC) team, you will be responsible for:

• Lead end-to-end M&A Human Capital integration and separation engagements, from due diligence and planning through Day 1 readiness and post-close execution working with LSHC clients.
• Direct engagement planning, budgeting, staffing, workplans, deliverable development, quality reviews, risk management, and engagement economics.
• Design and implement organization, workforce, culture, change management, communications, and Human Resources functional integration solutions, including HR systems, service delivery, total rewards, payroll, leadership development, and talent strategy.
• Advise executive stakeholders and lead client discussions, business-development pursuits, proposal development, and pricing strategies.
• Build M&A Human Capital capabilities through methodologies, points of view, publications, and industry events; coach, counsel, staff, and recruit practitioners.

The Team

M&A advises corporate and PE clients across inorganic growth/divestiture scenarios through M&A strategy, diligence, integration/separation planning and execution, financial and modeling services, and transaction financing.

Within Deloitte’s M&A offering, the Integration & Divestiture - Human Capital team helps clients address the people-related dimensions of transactions across the deal lifecycle. The team supports organizations through diligence, pre-close planning, Day 1 readiness, integration, and separation by focusing on areas such as organization design, workforce transition, employee communications, change management, and human resources operating model decisions. Working alongside cross-functional deal teams, the practice helps clients manage workforce risks, support business continuity, and execute human capital priorities that enable transaction value.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of consulting or industry experience in M&A Human Capital, including change management, communications, organizational design and development, Human Resources (HR) strategy or operations, or talent solutions; or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and 6+ years of consulting or industry experience in M&A Human Capital, including change management, communications, organizational design and development, HR strategy or operations, or talent solutions.
• Experience delivering at least 10 M&A Human Capital engagements involving integration planning and execution, post-merger integration, transaction risk assessment, restructuring, or enterprise cost reduction.
• 8+ years of experience developing and delivering HR transaction strategies and working across HR functions and processes, including HR strategy, employee experience, operating models, M&A, outsourcing advisory, or HR technology.
• 8+ years of experience leading current-state and future-state roadmaps, requirements-gathering workshops, labs, or meetings, and vendor selection processes that include requests for proposal (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and product or service evaluations.
• 6+ years of consulting or industry experience in Life Sciences and Healthcare.
• 6+ years of experience carrying a business development quota for consulting work, writing proposals, mobilizing pursuit teams, and leading business development pursuits from initiation through close.
• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

• Graduate degree in Human Resources or Organizational Behavior.
• Completion of one or more actuarial examinations or a professional Human Resources credential.
• 10+ years of experience in Human Capital mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, or enterprise cost reduction, including due diligence, transaction risk assessment, target screening, integration planning and execution, or post-merger integration.
• Experience in a Human Resources, consulting, or corporate communications role.
• Experience performing Human Capital due diligence across compensation, benefits, HR compliance, labor relations, HR communications, operations, technology, talent, or culture; and performing post-deal integration or separation activities that identify and quantify transaction risks and opportunities.
• Experience conducting financial statement and operations analytics and preparing client presentations, data analyses, and written reports using Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or Structured Query Language (SQL).

This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $223,700 to $372,900.
