Senior Commercial Manager – Commodities - India

Your future position

Join Kpler’s Sales team as our Senior Commercial Manager – Commodities - India and play a key role in expanding Kpler’s presence across one of the world’s most important and fast-moving commodities markets.

As our local commercial lead in India, you will be at the heart of Kpler’s growth in the region - building relationships with customers, uncovering new opportunities and helping organisations across the commodities industry make better-informed decisions through Kpler’s data and market intelligence.

You will combine new business development with account management, from identifying and winning new customers to developing long-term relationships with existing clients. You will have the opportunity to build a strong local presence for Kpler, meeting customers regularly and becoming a trusted commercial partner in the market.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will shape your territory, build pipeline, manage customer relationships and support opportunities through the full commercial cycle. You will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Sales Operations and our Business Units, giving you broad exposure across Kpler and the opportunity to have a direct impact on our growth in India.

We are looking for candidates who are based in Delhi or Mumbai.

Your mission is to:

•  Drive new business development across India, identifying, prospecting and engaging potential customers within the commodities industry.

• Build and manage a strong pipeline, taking opportunities from initial prospecting and meetings through to commercial discussions and close.

• Develop and grow existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities to expand Kpler’s footprint within customer organisations.

• Establish yourself as a trusted local point of contact for Kpler’s customers in India through regular customer engagement and visits.

• Use your understanding of the commodities market and customer needs to identify new opportunities and strengthen Kpler’s position in the region.

• Own territory planning and work towards pipeline generation, opportunity creation and territory growth targets.

• Support commercial discussions, including pricing and commercial terms, and coordinate contract negotiation and execution with Kpler’s authorised contracting entity and internal Legal team. This role does not include authority to bind the company or sign customer agreements.

• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and opportunity information throughout the sales cycle.

• Support the commercial process by coordinating and following up on contracts, invoicing and other commercial activities, helping ensure opportunities progress smoothly and efficiently.

• Work closely with Customer Success, Marketing, Sales Operations, Business Development and Business Units to deliver a joined-up customer experience.

• Represent Kpler externally with professionalism and credibility, strengthening our presence across the Indian commodities market.

Experience & Background

Strong experience in commercial roles, with a proven track record in new business development/ account management.

Strong experience working within the commodities industry, with a good understanding of the market, key players and commercial dynamics.

An established network across the Indian commodities market, with the ability to build relationships with relevant customers and decision-makers.

Proven experience generating pipeline, developing opportunities and converting prospects into long-term customer relationships.

Experience selling technology, data, market intelligence or related solutions.

Comfortable supporting the full commercial process, including customer engagement, CRM management, forecasting, contracts, invoicing and other commercial activities.

Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

A proactive “hunter” mentality, combined with the ability to develop and grow existing customer relationships.

Highly self-motivated, disciplined and comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers and build relationships across India.

Fluent in English.
