What this job involves –

• Responsible for comprehensive General Ledger management including month-end close processes (accruals, payment bookings, variance analysis), cash management, bank reconciliations, AR/AP oversight, preparation of timely and accurate monthly property financial statements with supporting documentation, detailed forecast analysis comparing Budget versus Actual and Forecast versus Actual spending for large real estate portfolios, and development of expert-level proficiency in real estate accounting software while meeting all Client Accounting Services and external client deadlines.Annual Budget planning preparation and development; and be responsible day to day reporting and forecasting activities for assigned portfolio.
•  Monthly end close and Quarterly Report Analysis 
• Assist leaders in researching and identifying budget corrections and work with others to implement change 
• Complete and support regular and ad-hoc reporting including informal and formal internal and documents, reports, graphs, charts, and presentations. 
• Support team’s efforts to develop efficient reporting strategies including automation and simplification of reporting processes while preserving data integrity 

Maintain working knowledge of Master Services Agreement and any relevant amendments or appendices 

• Support and track client billing activities 
• Assist with the calculation of fees (i.e., Management and Incentive) as needed. 
• Organize and maintain team data collection, reporting and communication. 
• Participate in the development and distribution of best practices, process documentation, and user support materials for reporting. 
• Analyze performance data to forecast/trend. 
• Support cost-savings and process improvement initiatives
• Provide discrete and confidential handling of sensitive information

Employee Specifications

• Strong GL month end background with some background in FP&A, Commerce graduate.
• Minimum 8-9 years of Operational/General ledger accounting and Finance experience including Profit & loss analysis, Balance sheet overview, experience in real estate accounting is a plus
• Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail logical thinking and carry a positive attitude to develop solutions quickly
• Impactful communication (written and verbal) to interact with clients and strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated consistency in values, principles and work ethics
• Strong knowledge of MS office (MS word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook) required
• Prior experience on ERP JD1 is preferable
