The opportunity

Technology is central to how organizations operate, make decisions, transform and report to stakeholders. As technology environments become more complex, organizations need greater confidence that their systems, data, governance and controls are reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

You will work across a portfolio of IT audit, technology assurance and advisory engagements. This may include core IT audit and technology controls work, together with internal audit, regulatory and third-party assurance, cyber risk, operational resilience, data privacy, technology transformation, data and AI governance, and other emerging technology risk engagements.

Your engagement mix will reflect business needs, your experience and capabilities, and the areas in which you demonstrate interest and potential.

This role offers practical experience across different industries, organizations and technology environments. You will learn how technology risk affects business operations, transformation and reporting, while developing skills in assurance, advisory problem-solving, stakeholder management and project delivery. You will build a strong foundation for a career across technology risk, assurance and related advisory disciplines.

The work you may be involved in

Depending on your experience and engagement portfolio, you may support:

• IT audits and technology controls assurance, including IT general controls, application controls and automated controls;
  
  
• internal audit, technology risk and controls reviews;
  
  
• regulatory, third-party reporting and other assurance engagements;
  
  
• systems implementation and technology transformation assurance;
  
  
• cyber risk, operational resilience, data privacy and technology governance engagements;
  
  
• data analytics and technology-enabled audit and risk procedures;
  
  
• cloud, data governance, AI governance and other emerging technology risk engagements; and
  
  
• initiatives to assess and strengthen technology risk frameworks, governance, controls and operating practices.
  
  

Your work may include understanding business and technology processes, interviewing stakeholders, reviewing documentation and system evidence, analysing data, assessing risks and controls, identifying issues, and developing clear observations and practical recommendations.

What you will do

As a Senior Associate, you will:

• plan and coordinate assigned engagement workstreams, including activities, responsibilities, timelines and deliverables;
  
  
• develop an understanding of the client’s business, technology environment and risk landscape, and translate this understanding into an appropriate work approach;
  
  
• perform and review technology risk and control assessments, challenging whether the evidence obtained supports the conclusions reached;
  
  
• assess the significance and business implications of identified risks, control gaps and other observations;
  
  
• develop clear, evidence-based findings and practical recommendations that respond to the client’s circumstances;
  
  
• guide junior team members, allocate and monitor work, provide timely feedback and support their development;
  
  
• manage day-to-day client interactions, clarify information requirements and address delivery issues;
  
  
• communicate progress, issues and emerging risks to engagement leadership in a timely manner;
  
  
• support engagement economics, timelines, risk management and quality requirements;
  
  
• identify broader client needs and contribute to the development of approaches and proposals for technology risk, assurance and advisory engagements; and
  
  
• contribute to knowledge development, methodology enhancement, market initiatives and the continued growth of the Technology Risk practice.
  
  
  

Qualifications and experience

To qualify for the Senior Associate role, you should have:

• a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline;
  
  
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in IT audit, IT general controls, external audit or cybersecurity;
  
  
• the ability to evaluate evidence, exercise professional judgement and communicate clear conclusions;
  
  
• experience managing assigned activities or workstreams and working directly with client stakeholders; and
  
  
• the ability to support and guide junior team members while maintaining responsibility for the quality and timeliness of assigned work.
