EisnerAmper is seeking an Experienced Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. We are seeking someone who thrives in a growing environment and at providing clients with exceptional services.

What Work You Will be Responsible For:
Consulting and Planning
Advise clients on various multistate income tax issues, including apportionment, nexus, individual residency, audit defense, and pass-through entity tax (PTET)
Support income tax planning and restructuring projects
Review and consult on pass-through entity issues, including elections, investor qualifications, and tax base for residents and nonresidents
Advise on multistate implications of legislative and regulatory developments affecting income tax
General indirect tax consulting as needed (sales/use tax, gross receipts tax)
Research & Writing
Conduct research and writing projects related to income tax planning, restructuring, and accounting for income taxes
Research and writing in support of technical income tax positions and client deliverables
Research and analyze state income tax legislation and assess client impact
Draft articles regarding trending topics and noteworthy developments
Transaction Advisory
Advise buyers and sellers on structuring transactions in a tax-efficient manner
Lead state income tax due diligence in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions
Advise transacting parties on reporting the transaction and tax equalization payments
Identify post-transaction restructuring opportunities to optimize the client's go-forward state tax position
Basic Qualifications:
CPA, JD, or Masters in Tax
6+ years of experience in state taxation
2+ years of supervisory experience
Proficient in Excel and generative AI tools
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in Tax or equivalent field
Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation
Experience with tiered flow-through entities and investment vehicles
Experience with state tax controversy and audit defense
Deep technical knowledge of NYS and NYC tax regimes
Ability to supervise and lead team members
