Officer, Junior Systems Engineer, LME

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain components within LME trading and market data systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to uphold LME technology standards.
• Assist in monitoring system performance, troubleshooting incidents, and supporting production stability.
• Contribute to the preparation of release materials, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Participate in enhancement projects, requirement clarifications, and testing activities.
• Collaborate with business, QA, infrastructure, and global LME/HKEX technology teams to support operational needs.
• Adhere to HKEX/LME SDLC, change management, and IT security procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
• 0–2 years’ experience in software development (internships included).
• Knowledge of Java, C++, or Python; scripting skills (Shell/Python) an advantage.
• Basic understanding of trading systems, market data concepts, or financial technology preferred (not mandatory).
• Familiarity with Linux environments, networking basics, and Git version control.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn complex systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a global technology team.
