Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking a motivated and technology-driven Software Engineering new grad to help build innovative solutions that support financial advisors and their clients. This role will work alongside experienced engineers and mentors, contributing to real-world projects while gaining hands-on experience with modern software development practices, cloud technologies, and AI-powered development tools. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about coding, problem-solving, and building scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using technologies such as

• React, Angular, Java, Python, .NET, Node.js, and related frameworks.

• Build and support APIs, backend services, databases, and cloud-based applications.

• Leverage automation and AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, design, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting activities.

• Follow software development best practices, including security, performance, and reliability standards.

Requirements:

• Completed a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), software engineering or a related field.

• Available to work from of LPL Financials' primary office locations

• Hands-on experience through coursework, internships, hackathons, or personal projects using at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript

Core Competencies:

• Software Engineering Fundamentals – Understanding of software development, testing, debugging, databases, APIs, and secure coding practices.

• Problem Solving & Collaboration – Ability to work effectively across teams and solve technical challenges in a structured manner.

• Cloud & Modern Development Practices – Familiarity with cloud platforms,

• DevOps principles, and scalable application development.

Preferences:

• Previous internship experience within a large-scale enterprise environment

• Experience with modern development frameworks and technologies such as React, Angular, .NET, Node.js, or Spring Boot.

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), CI/CD pipelines, Git, and RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with AI/Generative AI technologies, AI-powered coding tools, machine learning concepts, or intelligent automation solutions.

• Participation in team software projects, hackathons, internships, or open-source contribution

 

Pay Range:

$32.19-$53.68/hour

 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
