The Role
*LOCATION: Michigan / Indiana*
Kyndryl Consult is the fastest-growing business unit within our organization and is instrumental to our strategic growth objectives. We bring together deep technical expertise, strategic advisory, and hands-on execution to help complex enterprise clients modernize their infrastructure, accelerate cloud adoption, and build resilient digital capabilities.
In this high-impact individual contributor leadership role within a lean, senior team, you will drive large-scale digital transformation and technology modernization programs across State and Local Government agencies in Indiana and Michigan. You will serve as a key advisor to state technology leaders and department executives, helping public sector institutions harness modern infrastructure solutions to better serve their citizens.
Operating with high autonomy in a self-starter model, you will lead end-to-end client strategy across both pre- and post-deal phases. You will navigate commercial structuring, deal pricing, and risk management while orchestrating cross-functional teams of technical experts across the enterprise without relying on direct junior support teams.
Strategic Growth & Business Development
Drive commercial outcomes across state and local government accounts through high-value consulting engagements, cloud migrations, and infrastructure modernization solutions.
Originate, scope, and close complex consulting opportunities while managing fee negotiations, profitability metrics, margin structures, and commercial risk mitigation.
Navigate public sector procurement vehicles, including RFPs, RFIs, sole-source justifications, NASPO, OMNIA, and state master purchasing agreements.
Client Engagement & Executive Advisory
Serve as a trusted advisor to State CIOs, Chief Technology Officers, Cabinet Secretaries, Agency Directors, and public procurement leaders across Indiana and Michigan.
Translate policy goals, legislative mandates, and state budget cycles into actionable technology modernization roadmaps.
Build strategic relationships across key state agency portfolios, including state IT offices (e.g., Indiana Office of Technology, Michigan DTMB), departments of transportation (e.g., INDOT, MDOT), health and human services, labor and workforce development, revenue, and public safety.
Provide strategic guidance to higher education institutions and municipal public sector entities where aligned with broader state IT initiatives.
Practice Leadership & Operational Excellence
Guide client engagements from initial pre-deal strategy through post-deal implementation planning and delivery oversight.
Manage account strategies, commercial pricing models, risk reviews, and cross-functional technical expertise across the organization.
Contribute to industry eminence, thought leadership, and Kyndryl brand presence across Midwest state government technology forums and industry events.

Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience leading consultative technology sales, advisory services, or enterprise IT transformation programs within State & Local Government.
Proven track record of building relationships and closing technology agreements with State CIOs, agency executives, and public procurement leaders.
Deep background in management or technology consulting with direct responsibility for driving revenue targets, profitability, and deal margins.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage client strategies, deal pricing, and cross-functional teams in a lean practice model.
Experience with state public contracting laws, budget cycles, and regulatory frameworks including StateRAMP, FedRAMP, CJIS, and HIPAA.
Experience working within top-tier management or technology consulting firms.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Leadership experience within state or local government agencies (such as State CIO, Deputy CIO, or Agency IT Director) managing public sector modernization initiatives.
Established network across Indiana or Michigan state agencies, municipalities, and educational institutions, with deep familiarity with state fiscal planning and budget cycles.
Practical experience navigating public sector procurement vehicles, including RFPs, RFIs, NASPO, OMNIA, and GSA schedules.
Proven track record leading digital equity initiatives, smart city programs, or public sector modernization efforts across multi-year sales cycles.
Consulting experience at enterprise systems integrators or global management consultancies focused on public sector accounts.
Exposure to public sector cloud ecosystems including Microsoft, Google Cloud, AWS, or Salesforce.
Relevant public cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) or technology consulting credentials.
Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field.

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is - $185,760 to $334,320 based on a full-time schedule.
Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California (San Francisco Bay Area): $222,960 to $401,160
California (All Other): $204,360 to $367,800
Colorado: $185,760 to $334,320
Massachusetts: $185,760 to $367,800
New York City: $222,960 to $401,160
Washington: $204,360 to $367,800
Washington DC: $204,360 to $367,800
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
