The Role
As a Mainframe Systems Administrator (z/OS, z/VM) at Kyndryl, you’ll manage and optimize enterprise mainframe operating systems, ensuring high levels of system availability, performance, and compliance. This role is critical to the stability of core technology platforms that support business operations.
You are responsible for proactively monitoring mainframe environments, coordinating patching activities, resolving incidents, and maintaining accurate documentation. Working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, you help ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient mainframe operations at Kyndryl.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure system availability through proactive monitoring of mainframe environments.
Administer and optimize z/OS and z/VM systems to support business operations.
Maintain patch compliance and coordinate updates to minimize service disruption.
Use management tools to analyze system performance and resolve incidents.
Document system changes and maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.

Required Skills and Experience
2+ years of hands‑on experience supporting z/OS and z/VM systems in mainframe environments.
Proficiency in z/OS and z/VM administration and troubleshooting.
Experience using mainframe management tools for monitoring, analysis, and incident resolution.
Familiarity with patch management, incident response, and compliance processes.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Intermediate English proficiency for technical documentation, incident reporting, and communication with global teams.
Experience supporting system availability initiatives in enterprise environments.
Exposure to audit‑driven or compliance‑focused IT operations.
Experience contributing to process improvements that enhance system performance or availability.
