Job Description
We're seeking a Senior Product Sales (Solution Consultant) based in Japan to spearhead our commercial efforts across the Asia region. In this pivotal and highly autonomous role, you'll act as a primary subject matter expert, leveraging deep research and analytical acumen to strategically understand complex client needs and demonstrate how Nielsen's cutting-edge solutions can solve their most pressing business challenges.
You will work in close partnership with commercial teams, providing strategic insights, developing bespoke product demonstrations, and leading compelling client engagements to significantly drive revenue and ensure clients recognize the full transformative value of Nielsen's offerings. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong blend of advanced research expertise, extensive client-facing experience, a proven track record in sales, and a passion for driving strategic growth.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Product Sales (Solution Consultant), you will:
Lead as a Solutions Expert: Possess in-depth expertise in Nielsen's comprehensive suite of media, content and digital advertising measurement solutions, including all outcome-based methodologies such as Brand Lift, Sales Lift, Buyer Lift, Opportunity to See (OTS), and advanced digital tagging strategies.
Drive Strategic Client Engagements: Work directly with key clients to deeply understand their intricate business objectives, identify complex pain points, and proactively position Nielsen's solutions as strategic accelerators to meet their specific needs and drive their success.
Accelerate Commercial Growth: Collaborate strategically with the sales team to develop and deliver high-impact client presentations, conduct advanced product demonstrations, and craft compelling proposals that clearly articulate the transformative value and ROI of Nielsen's solutions. Consistently contribute to exceeding regional sales targets.
Collaborate on Data Analysis: While not directly responsible for hands-on data generation, the candidate must possess a robust understanding of complex data sets and collaborate closely with internal cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the delivery of precise, actionable analysis for clients.
Collaborate on Research Design & Quality: Partner closely with our dedicated research team to implement survey methodologies and project frameworks that directly address client objectives. Provide strategic input to ensure the research approach aligns with client needs, and collaborate with the team to uphold the highest standards of data quality and methodological rigor throughout project execution.
Cultivate & Expand Key Relationships: Proactively foster and expand high-level client connections across the Asia region, independently identifying new growth opportunities and leading the development of innovative commercial approaches.
Strategic Problem Solving: Anticipate potential client challenges and proactively devise and present strategic, effective solutions leveraging Nielsen's offerings, often involving complex cross-solution integration.
This role involves extensive, high-level interaction with both internal senior leadership (e.g., Sales Directors, Product Leads, Regional Heads) and external executive-level clients across the Asia region.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
Experience: 5-8+ years of progressive experience in primary research, insights, data analytics, or a senior solution consulting role within the media or advertising industry (client or agency side). Proven track record of successfully managing complex client relationships and contributing significantly to revenue growth.
Client Leadership: Demonstrated ability to independently lead and nurture strategic client relationships at senior levels, with a focus on delivering exceptional value and fostering long-term partnerships.
Advanced Analytical & Business Acumen: Highly numerate with a sophisticated analytical and strong commercial mindset. Exceptional ability to quickly grasp and synthesize complex market dynamics, diverse methodologies, and advanced techniques.
Executive Communication: Superior interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (both verbal and written), capable of engaging and influencing executive-level stakeholders internally and externally, including navigating complex cross-cultural communication.
Strategic Self-Starter: A highly proactive, independent, and strategic individual capable of managing multiple high-priority projects and accounts with minimal supervision.
