The Opportunity

The Metrics Consultant is responsible for developing, enhancing, and optimizing reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions that support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making within the Long Term Care (LTC) business. This role contributes to operational excellence by transforming complex data into actionable insights, improving workflows, and enabling informed business decisions across the United States.

In this role, you will partner with leaders across Operations, Finance, Technology, and Compliance to develop innovative reporting solutions, automate processes, support regulatory reporting, and influence strategic decisions through advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions that support operational and financial objectives.
• Create complex dashboards, reports, data models, and performance metrics using SQL, Power BI, Cognos, MS Access, and other reporting platforms.
• Oversee the integrity, accuracy, and quality assurance of business-critical data and reporting solutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.
• Manage operational performance reporting, trend analysis, forecasting models, capacity planning, productivity tracking, and financial performance metrics.
• Develop automated workflows, reporting databases, SharePoint solutions, and scalable tools that improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and IT teams to identify requirements, implement process improvements, and deliver data-driven recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, with the ability to apply technical expertise to business reporting and analytics initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience with MS Access development, including VBA, macros, custom forms, data connections, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
• 5+ years of experience in data-focused roles, including Business Intelligence, database management, analytics, reporting, and data transformation.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, database design, complex query development, and report creation to support operational and financial decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings, recommendations, and complex analyses to senior leadership.
• Ability to leverage approved AI tools, develop effective prompts, and incorporate AI into workflows while maintaining ownership and accountability for outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience within Long Term Care, insurance, claims operations, finance, case management, or a related industry.
• Experience with Cognos, QlikView, Power BI, and other business intelligence platforms to develop advanced reporting and executive dashboards.
• Advanced expertise in SQL, ETL processes (SSIS), and database development, preferably within SQL Server environments.
• Experience developing SharePoint solutions, including lists, libraries, forms, and workflow automation.
• Knowledge of predictive analytics and modeling tools such as R, SAS, SPSS, or Alteryx.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, cost savings, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
