Prudential Taiwan is accelerating the adoption of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Analytics and Data capabilities to improve customer experience, distribution, operational effectiveness and decision-making. The AI & Data Solutions Architect is the lead technical authority within the PCALT Data & AI function, translating business requirements into scalable, secure and sustainable solutions.

Reporting directly to the Data & AI team’s Head of Strategic Focus, Governance & Platform, the role defines architecture standards and reusable solution patterns, leads technical design for strategic initiatives, and provides assurance from discovery through production. The successful candidate will combine strong AI and data architecture expertise with practical delivery experience and the ability to communicate effectively with business, technology, risk and governance stakeholders.

Job Description:

• AI & Data Solution Architecture

  ·  
  • Lead end-to-end architecture and technical design for strategic AI, Generative AI, Analytics and Data solutions.·  
  • Translate business needs into practical architectures aligned with enterprise technology, security, data and Group standards.  
  • Develop and maintain reference architectures, reusable patterns, design principles and architecture documentation. 
  • Assess solution options, dependencies and technical trade-offs, and communicate clear recommendations to stakeholders.  
  • Provide architecture oversight from discovery and proof of concept through integration, production and ongoing optimisation.

• AI, Machine Learning & Generative AI

  • Design enterprise solutions involving machine learning, Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, natural language processing and intelligent automation.  
  • Define patterns for agentic AI, including orchestration, memory, tool integration, access control, monitoring and human oversight.·  
  • Guide the selection of models, vector databases, model APIs, orchestration frameworks and build-buy-partner approaches.·  
  • Establish practices for grounding, prompt management, evaluation, content safety, response quality and model lifecycle management.

• Data & Platform Architecture

  • Define data sourcing, ingestion, transformation, storage, access and integration requirements for AI and Analytics solutions.·  
  • Partner with Data Foundation and Technology teams to design trusted data products, APIs and reusable platform services.·  
  • Shape PCALT's AI and Data platform roadmap, including sandbox, development, test, deployment, monitoring and production capabilities.·  
  • Evaluate new platforms and tools based on business value, technical fit, security, cost and operational sustainability.
• Engineering Standards & Delivery Enablement
  • Establish standards for AI SDLC, MLOps, LLMOps, testing, deployment, monitoring, observability and lifecycle management.·  
  • Provide technical guidance to AI engineers, data scientists, data engineers and delivery partners.·  
  • Conduct architecture and design reviews, resolve complex integration and scalability issues, and ensure production readiness.·  
  • Promote reusable components, deployment automation, source control, technical documentation and disciplined engineering practices.

• Security, Governance & Responsible AI by Design

  • Embed security, privacy, technology risk, model governance and Responsible AI requirements from the start of solution design.·  
  • Partner with Governance, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Information Security teams to assess and mitigate technical and regulatory risks.·  
  • Define controls for identity, access, sensitive data, audit logging, third-party connectivity, monitoring and human review.·  
  • Support governance reviews, vendor assessments, audits and regulatory enquiries with clear technical evidence and documentation.

• Business Engagement, Innovation & Technical Leadership

  • Facilitate discovery and solution design workshops with business, product, Data & AI and Technology stakeholders.·  
  • Assess use cases for value, technical feasibility, data readiness, complexity and risk, and support business-case development.·  
  • Research emerging AI, data and cloud technologies and recommend controlled adoption where relevant to PCALT priorities.·  
  • Serve as trusted technical advisor to the Chief Data & AI Officer and provide mentorship across the Data & AI community.·  
  • Collaborate with Group teams and strategic technology partners while communicating complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, AI engineering, data architecture or software engineering.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise AI, Generative AI, machine learning or data solutions from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, vector search, model APIs, cloud-native integration, APIs and modern data architecture.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, LLMOps, model evaluation, monitoring, cybersecurity, privacy and Responsible AI.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, MLflow and relevant AI frameworks is preferred.
• Experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated industry, including familiarity with Taiwan requirements, is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance strategic direction and hands-on technical engagement.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese for collaboration with local and regional stakeholders.
