TheReaxysteam is searching for a self-drivenandmotivateddataenthusiastwith a passion formanagingmultipleconstantlyevolving data structures,performance optimizationofunderlyingdatabasesand data storages, and makingthedata accessibleto various stake holdersin a highly performant way.The focusisontaking a holistic perspective onourchemistrydatatoprovidean (almost)real-timeexperienceto our customers, even forcomplexuse casesoncontinuously growinglarge datasets.You will be part of an agile development team supporting and continuouslyimprovingthe storage, organization, management and access ofour chemicaldatato fulfil our customer’s needs, from databases, data structures,schemas, andviews to sophisticatedtechnologiesto makeall ofthisaccessible and utilizable.You will be able to contribute and expand yourexpertiseand skills in a variety of career paths at Elsevier.

Your Responsibilities:
Understand,designandmaintaindifferentdata structuresandthe correspondingdata, and constantlyoptimizeandadapt thedata storages,data structures,schemas, views, procedures, etc.tofulfil customer use cases.
Transform the data structuresfor different representations and implementations.
Optimizeourdatabases, e.g., indexes,the data structure,views,and queries,and implement extensions, stored proceduresforfastresultretrievalevenforcomplexuse cases.
Be an active member of theagile team, contributing to ceremonies and team decision making.
Work closely withdevelopers,productowners,andotherstakeholders to ensuretimelydeliveries.
You should bring:
Expert level experiencein Data Engineering or Business Intelligence.
Strong background in relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL and/or Oracle, and their optimization.
Minimum medium levelscripting experienceinBash, Perl, or Python.
Experienceinversion controltools, like Git.
Experience in AI supported development/working.Fluent English oral and written communication skills.
The ability and passion to work in adiverseteam.
Education & Experience:
Expert(5 years)as a Data Engineer or Business Intelligence Expert.
Strongexperience with relational databases, like PostgreSQLor Oracle.
Abachelor'sdegree (master'spreferred) incomputerscience,orlife scienceswith a strong background inIT.
The following skills will be a bonus:
Basic chemistry or life sciences knowledge.
Experience or training in AWS.
Experience or training in C/C++.
Experience or training inLinux.
Knowledge of Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence.
