Junior Accountant (12 Month Temporary Assignment)

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION OFAPPROXIMATELY 12 MONTHS 

POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team in the NYC headquarters.  The Junior Accountant responsibilities will include all aspects of the general ledger and month-end closing.  This is a deadline-driven environment, as strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication skills are required. 

This position will be on a Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the New York City office located at 25 Madison Ave.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of all intercompany invoices

• Recording of monthly journal entries

• Provide feedback to manager on ways to enhance and streamline the invoicing process

• Daily monitoring of the AP clearing accounts

• Preparation of analysis schedules

• Preparation of bank reconciliations

• Assist with the monthly accounting close

• Assist with special projects which may arise

• Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

• BS Degree in Accounting required

• 1-2 years Accounting experience

• Experienced in SAP Accounting software

• Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Must have strong analytical and communication skills

• Adaptable and willing to work in a changing environment where continued process improvement is expected

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Driven, self-motivated, deadline-drive and goal oriented

• All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA

The target annualized base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $78,000. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
