The Hartford’s Information Protection (THIP) organization is looking for talented professionals to join a high-performing team that is charged withsupporting and enhancing our core Directory Services platforms. As aDirectory Services engineer, this positionwillbepart of theprimary technicalteamtasked withengineering andmaintainingdirectory services platforms includingActive Directory, Active Roles Server (ARS)andCyberArk. The individual will have the opportunity to help shape thefuturedirectionand useof theapplications as they are currently deployed atthe Hartford. Additionally, the position will have broadaccountabilitiesaround currency and patching for allDirectory Services technologies. This role will providethought leadership, professionalsupportand valued contributions to a range ofproduction support,developmentand projectactivities. We are looking for an experiencedprofessional, whohas a breadth of knowledge and skills across varioustechnical acumens, along with an understanding of industry best practices.
The right person will develop a deepunderstanding of the platformsusage and consumption, continuously advocate for automation and process efficiency, and where necessary challenge and influence managementto take actions to appropriatelyutilizethe systems.The roleis heavily focused on ensuring currency and stability in the environment.The right person will have a wide-ranging technical knowledge with a desire to learn and grow their technical skills across the noted domains.
Responsibilities
This positionis responsible forperforming and overseeing the execution of the following:
TechnicalExpertforengineering and support forActive Directorysystems–Includes monitoring overall health and well-being of the Active Directory environments, playing a key role on the current team as an ambassador for currency and stability, and analyzing and implementing required changes, patches and upgrades for Domain Controllers and various ancillary systems.
Technical Support for various Directory Services technologies–Accountable for helping the existing engineers with support of directory services technologies, including Active Directory,OneIdentitySafeguard /Active Roles Server (ARS),CyberArkandAzure AD(Entra). This work will range from production support toproject relatedactivities.
Process design / automation implementation– Includes reviewing the currentsystemsand processes associated withDirectory Servicesandhelping designmore efficient and automated solutions wherefeasible.
Qualifications
Candidates will be evaluated based on their ability to perform the duties listed above whiledemonstratingthe skills and competencies necessary to behighly-effectivein the role. These skills and competencies include:
A broad and diversetechnicalbackground.
Multiple years supporting Active Directory
Fluent in domain controller functionality and behaviors
Strong overall knowledge of Intel servers
A track recordin production support / system support activities.
Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions andidentifythe mostappropriate actions.
Confidence to effectively influence others tomodifytheir opinions, plans, or behaviors.
Excellent prioritization capabilities, with an aptitude forbreaking downwork into manageable parts, effectively assessing the priority and timerequiredto complete each part.
Organizational skills thatenablesone to work on several tasks simultaneously, providing management withappropriate insightinto the workload and priorities.
Original and innovative thinking that producesnew ideasand creates innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
A successful candidate willpossesssome orall ofthe following background andexperiences:
BS or MA in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
4+ years supporting directory services and/oridentity managementrelated technologies
