The Investment Analyst (IA) partners with Senior Institutional Investment Managers (SIIM) and the Investment Advisory Group (IAG) to support the delivery of sophisticated investment advisory and portfolio management services to institutional clients across the Truist footprint. The role supports a team focused on public, non-profit and private institutions with investable assets generally exceeding $25 million, as well as specialized Dealer Trust Services relationships.The Institutional Investment Analyst serves as a key investment resource, providing portfolio analysis, investment research, performance reporting, client presentation support, and ongoing portfolio management assistance. The position plays an integral role in client retention, business development, fiduciary oversight, investment policy implementation, and the delivery of a consistent institutional client experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a summary of the primary responsibilities associated with this role. Additional duties may be assigned as business needs evolve.
1. Portfolio Management and Investment Analysis
Support Senior Institutional Investment Managers in the construction, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of institutional investment portfolios. Conduct investment analysis, portfolio reviews, asset allocation assessments, manager due diligence, and performance evaluations to help ensure portfolios remain aligned with client objectives and investment policy guidelines.
2. Institutional Client Servicing
Prepare institutional investment reviews, committee materials, performance reports, and market commentary for clients. Participate in client meetings, investment committee presentations, and ongoing client communications while assisting in the delivery of advice-driven investment solutions.
3. Business Development Support
Partner with Senior Institutional Investment Managers in new business development efforts by analyzing prospective client portfolios, preparing investment recommendations, conducting comparative portfolio analyses, and developing presentation materials for prospect and finalist meetings.
4. Investment Policy and Fiduciary Support
Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of Investment Policy Statements (IPS). Identify portfolio variances relative to investment objectives, risk parameters, and policy guidelines, and work with Senior Institutional Investment Managers to recommend appropriate actions.
5. Trading and Portfolio Implementation
Support portfolio implementation activities, including trading execution, cash management, rebalancing, manager transitions, and investment strategy updates. Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with Truist policies, fiduciary standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
6. Dealer Trust Services Support
Provide specialized analytical and portfolio support for Dealer Trust Services relationships, including investment reporting, cash flow analysis, portfolio implementation, performance monitoring, and client communications related to dealer reserve and trust investment programs.
7. Risk Management and Compliance
Actively participate in risk management and compliance activities by maintaining appropriate documentation, supporting account reviews, monitoring adherence to client guidelines, and ensuring compliance with Truist policies, regulatory requirements, and fiduciary responsibilities.
8. Collaboration and Partnership
Work closely with Senior Institutional Investment Managers, the Investment Advisory Group, Wealth teammates, Product Specialists, Compliance, Operations, and other partners to deliver integrated solutions and a high-quality client experience.
The annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - $92,500
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent education and related training. Series 65 licenses. Candidates will have 60 days from their Start Date to transfer, or 100 days from their Start Date to acquire all of the registrations and licenses required for this position.
Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of finance and investment theory. Possesses presentation skills as well as oral and written communication skills. 2+ years of investment management / trading or related experience. Ability to work on complex projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification [or progress towards CFA] MBA [or progress towards MBA] Additional Professional Designations such as CFP®, CIMA, CAIA
