Job Description:
Withum’s Tax Services Group is made up of a brilliant team of tax specialists that work to ensure tax reporting obligations are met in an accurate and timely manner and minimize or defer the payment of taxes. Their comprehensive understanding of international, US federal, state, and local regulations, counting our affiliation with HLB international, allows them to help develop economical tax strategies anywhere. Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services.
This Tax Senior Manager role will be based out of one of our Los Angeles, CA, Orange County, CA, San Francisco, CA, San Ramon, CA, San Diego, CA, New York, NY, or Whippany, NJ offices. You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, from planning to completion, to include supervision/mentoring of staff and building/maintaining relationships with clients.

How you'll spend your time:
Leading the review of complex high-net-worth individual, fiduciary, gift and estate and other tax returns, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic planning
Conducting advanced tax research and drafting technical memoranda addressing complex issues
Designing and implementing tax planning strategies that optimize wealth preservation, charitable giving, and succession planning for founders and tech executives
Serving as a trusted advisor, managing client relationships through proactive communication, strategic consultations, and responsive service
Mentoring and supervising staff, fostering technical development, accountability, and a collaborative team culture
Collaborating with partners and senior leadership on client engagements, thought leadership, and business development initiatives
Ensuring compliance with evolving federal, state, and local tax regulations, staying ahead of legislative changes and industry trends
Contributing to process improvement, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Engaging in firm-wide initiatives, including innovation projects, marketing efforts, and continuing education programs that support Withum’s dynamic and inclusive culture
The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
CPA, JD, LLM or MST required
Minimum of 8+ years of professional services experience required
Industry knowledge within the Technology/Startup and Emerging Growth sector a plus
Demonstrated strategic leadership. Defining market opportunities, creating a strategic plan, process and deployment capabilities
Demonstrated process creation. Adept at developing and deploying best of breed business development and relationship management practices
Outstanding multitasking skills and organization

Strong presentation skills. Must possess ability to organize and lead meetings with senior executives

Project management. Must demonstrate ability to manage time, multi-task, and meet deadlines for themselves and their firm team members
Candidate must demonstrate experience in working as a productive member of a team
Tangible and demonstrated experience in formal sales process deployment, use and training
Ability to be a resource to other team members on the firm, the technology community, overall strategy and tactics
Ability to adhere to an environment of accountability and responsibility – no excuses
Ability to constructively monitor, formally (CRM) and informally (personal interaction) personal and client account performance
Creative problem solving & conflict resolution
Attentiveness to detail
Outstanding relationship management skills and personal networking skills are essential
Must be solution oriented
The compensation for this position will vary by location. If you reside in California, New York City, or New Jersey, please see below. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications. California ranges are from $135,000 - $230,000
New Jersey ranges are from $130,000 - $230,000
New York City range is from $150,000 - $225,000
