Hang Seng's Investments and Wealth Solutions offers a full spectrum of wealth products and services to our Retail Banking and Wealth (RBW) customers, from high-net-worth to mass segments across channels to capture opportunity under different market scenarios. We play a distributor role to source investment and insurance products from service providers, manage the product due diligence and onboarding, as well as client journey design and implementation. We distribute investment funds managed by top tier fund managers covering different types of funds, across regions and asset classes. A wide range of structured products with underlying linked to equities, FX rates, interest rates, investment funds, etc. are offered for investors to pursue different investment objectives. We also offer fixed income instruments and certificates of deposit to customers who look for regular coupon payment.  Besides, we have securities services covering exchange traded equities in local and overseas markets offered through a wide variety of trading channels. Margin trading services covering FX and securities, and investment financing service provides extra liquidity and purchasing power to cater for investment needs from sophisticated investors.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Business Risk and Control Manager.

Principal responsibilities

• Participate in business development, new products, platform projects as a business risk and control subject matter expert and provide advice to business on overall business risk aspects.
• Acts as a trusted partner to Business in order to ensure the business remains within risk appetite, including pre-empting emerging risks and analyzing lessons learnt from past incidents.
• Acts as a focal point of contact for our Investments and Wealth Solutions business teams and risk stewards on all risk related topics.
• Establish and maintain effective risk management and controls within Investments and Wealth Solutions business by assessing operational risks and performing reviews of control procedures and monitoring programs, working with other departments on their operational risk management, ensuring adequate controls are in place in the First Line of Defense.
• Coordinate with relevant business teams to ensure the proper and timely recording and reporting of management self-identified issues and incidents, and the corresponding management action plans.
• Propose and implement continuous control monitoring, and arrange the regular and ad-hoc reviews in response to the review findings, business initiatives and the update of Group policies and requirements.
• Act as the secretary of business risk governance meetings and ensure timely and comprehensive update of the risk reporting to senior management in the risk forum.
• Act as Business Information Risk Officer (BIRO) and coordinate with business teams and risk stewards to drive the regular and ad-hoc projects to comply with Group policies accordingly
• Promote operational risk awareness, including briefing and training to staff, sharing of internal/external incidents, etc.

Requirements

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
• Relevant experience in banking, with exposure to risk control and relevant qualification
• Sound knowledge of retail and wealth products, investment markets, products and regulations, operational risk management, financial crime compliance or other related areas
• Strong business sense, self-motivated with good communication, logical and positive thinking, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Strong business acumen with good problem solving, communication and analytical skills
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective deliverables
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese
