The Group AI Platform team sits within CTO Platforms, part of HSBC’s Chief Technology Office (CTO). We build shared AI foundations that enable teams across the Bank to deliver AI solutions faster, more safely and at scale.

Our platform provides a “paved road” for AI delivery, bringing together seamless access to AI models and infrastructure, a consistent Agent HUB to build, deploy and manage production-ready AI agents, reusable AI capabilities (such as knowledge management and document intelligence), and built-in controls including guardrails, evaluation and monitoring to support responsible adoption.

We’re a global team with an established footprint across Asia (Hong Kong, Mainland China, India) and Europe (Poland, UK), and we continue to expand to support delivery across regions. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Associate Director, Software Engineering(AI Platform Programme Manager )

Principal responsibilities

• Act as Programme Manager for the Group AI Platform by defining strategy, developing plans, tracking progress, and driving execution of platform-wide objectives across multiple teams.
• Drive continuous improvement through a data-driven approach, using insights to strengthen delivery performance and operational outcomes.
• Engage and communicate with global stakeholders to align priorities and ensure successful delivery.
• Resolve issues and remove blockers to keep delivery on track and enable successful outcomes.
• Provide consistent programme reporting on milestones, RAID items, and financials where applicable, providing clear visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and required decisions.
• Embed high-performing ways of working, including Agile delivery, clear ownership, measurable outcomes, and strong controls aligned to a regulated environment.
• Coach and influence leaders and teams to strengthen execution discipline, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; 10+ years of programme / project management experience, with strategy management experience preferred.
• Extensive experience of leading complex, cross functional technology initiatives across global teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong ability to translate strategy into executable roadmaps with measurable outcomes, drive delivery and continuous improvement.
• Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to provide crisp executive updates, develop well-structured materials, and facilitate effective decision-making.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and experience managing delivery using Agile ways of working.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and influence diverse teams, building alignment across competing priorities.
• Experience of managing AI/ML solutions or platforms delivery is preferred, along with a passion for AI/ML and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.
