We are actively seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Process Engineer to join our Procurement and Third Party Management Operational Excellence team. This is a pivotal strategic leadership role, requiring a strong ability to anticipate complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions. The successful candidate will operate as a proactive problem-solver, consistently staying current with industry developments and strategically executing initiatives.
This individual will independently lead and drive the execution of complex, transformational initiatives across the enterprise-wide landscape, requiring strategic foresight and determination without extensive supervision. The ideal candidate will possess deep disciplinary knowledge in process engineering, a proven track record of successful project execution, strong commercial and risk awareness, and a demonstrated ability to navigate and deliver projects effectively across diverse global geographies. This role demands strong communication, effective influence management, and robust leadership skills, vital for guiding and influencing stakeholder consensus across all organizational levels, including external partners. This individual will be a critical architect of continuous improvement, significantly influencing strategic decisions and driving service excellence within their area of specialization, and is expected to consistently operate at a high level of performance and strategic impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Process Design & Execution Mastery:

- Leverage profound disciplinary expertise to pioneer the development of groundbreaking techniques and instigate radical improvements in critical processes and workflows.
- Lead, orchestrate, and flawlessly execute highly complex, multi-organizational projects, ensuring the unwavering efficacy and strategic alignment of all processes and methodologies, operating with complete autonomy and requiring no supervision.
- Disruptive Innovation & Growth Cultivation:
- Proactively identify, rigorously assess, and relentlessly pursue innovation opportunities, unearthing novel sources of strategic growth, defining compelling new value propositions, and fundamentally re-engineering business and operating models.
- Radically simplify and streamline organizational structures, forging industrial-strength, scalable franchise processes that deliver unparalleled efficiency and decisive strategic advantage.
- Continuously leverage state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) resources, leveraging Citi's advanced platforms, to conduct rigorous analysis, identify critical insights, and spearhead the implementation of transformative process improvements and disruptive innovation.
- Executive Collaboration & Strategic Influence:
- Forge indispensable alliances with senior business and functional leaders, proactively identifying and championing monumental opportunities for exponential revenue growth and significant cost optimization.
- Architect and deliver profoundly compelling executive presentations, meticulously crafting persuasive narratives that dictate and secure adoption of critical strategic imperatives by top-tier decision-makers.
- Cultivate and leverage an expansive network of formidable relationships, exerting profound influence over senior stakeholders and cross-functional leadership teams across the global organization to meticulously define and irrevocably commit to strategic trajectories.
- Enterprise-Scale Program Leadership:
- Formulate and meticulously maintain exceptionally rigorous project blueprints, masterfully navigating and commanding all facets of intricate project landscapes including resource allocation, intricate stakeholder management, and granular task orchestration.
- Architect, lead, and flawlessly execute complex workstreams, demonstrating an acute ability to preempt critical issues, proactively deploy robust mitigation strategies, and meticulously map interdependencies across all related workstreams to ensure seamless integration and execution across the enterprise.
- Risk Governance & Compliance Stewardship:
- Proactively identify, rigorously assess, and strategically mitigate systemic project and operational risks. Required Qualifications
- Experience: 6-10 years of demonstrably progressive experience in process engineering, strategic financial planning and analysis, or large-scale project execution. Must possess broad experience across different sectors to help identify opportunities across the end-to-end process.
- Independent Strategic Leadership: Proven, exceptional success in autonomously conceiving, leading, and flawlessly executing extraordinarily complex, high-impact, and enterprise-wide projects from inception to culmination. This includes demonstrable experience working on projects with a large scope, extending far beyond the immediate team and involving external partners. Demonstrated ability to concurrently manage multiple critical initiatives, strategically prioritize under extreme pressure, and render decisive judgments in highly ambiguous and fluid environments.
- Executive Communication, Influence, and Leadership Acumen: Exhibit superior verbal, written, and diplomatic mastery, coupled with an unparalleled ability to influence, align, and direct senior stakeholders at all organizational levels, expertly guide and galvanize cross-functional teams, and forge enterprise-wide consensus. Possess exemplary presentation skills (mastery of PowerPoint, advanced Excel proficiency required) to articulate profoundly complex information, strategically escalate critical issues to executive management, and cultivate formidable relationships with global senior executive audiences.
- AI/ML Application for Process Architecture: Possess a demonstrated, advanced ability to regularly leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) resources, particularly within a sophisticated enterprise environment like Citi, to engineer and implement disruptive process improvements and drive profound operational efficiency gains.
- Advanced Risk Acumen: Exhibit an exhaustive understanding of enterprise-level project and operational risk management principles, with extensive practical experience in proactively identifying, rigorously assessing, and strategically mitigating systemic risks. Possess the unwavering ability to apply sound ethical judgment in all contexts related to personal behavior, professional conduct, and business practices.
- Broad shared services experience is a significant plus.
Education
- Bachelor's/University degree required; Master's degree preferred or equivalent advanced professional qualifications.
