EY Parthenon - Manager - Strategy and Transaction Execution Deal Technology

The opportunity 

EY-Parthenon offers corporate, government and private equity clients professional transaction advice and services, from the strategic analysis phase of the transaction lifecycle, through to deal execution, and transaction integration or separation. The goal is to create value for EY-Parthenon clients, people and society more broadly at the intersection of strategy, transaction services and transformation. 

Transaction Strategy and Execution – Deal Technology is a dedicated team within EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Transactions practice that helps clients achieve their strategic objectives in acquisitions and divestments.

We cover a wide range of technology aspects in a transaction, including IT, cyber, software and data due diligence, separation or integration analysis,  value creation, synergy assessments, , and supporting the integration or separation process from a technology workstream perspective. With an unrivalled track record in the industry, you will have the opportunity to be part of the largest dedicated integrations, separations and transition practice in Oceania.

This is a hybrid position based in Naarm – Melbourne.

Your key responsibilities  

As a Manager, you will support and deliver  Deal Technology services on transactions of all sizes. This is a hybrid position based in Melbourne. Some of your responsibilities include:

• Analysing and evaluating key IT risks and considerations that impact deal value for buy-side clients
• Being a trusted advisor to clients on technical matters relating to separation or integration assessments
• Developing and presenting key deliverables to clients as well as supporting in business development activities
• Identifying key client risks throughout the transaction lifecycle and mitigating these ahead of time
• Analysing and evaluating a company’s IT financials and highlighting considerations for the transaction
• Managing engagement teams day-to-day in the delivery of our Deal Technology services
• Acting as the main point of contact to our client for our Deal Technology scope of services
• Collaborating widely with the broader EY-Parthenon division and other teams within EY to bring the best of EY to solve the client’s challenges throughout the transaction life-cycle

• 5+ years of experience
• Experience in 2 of these 3 domains

• Mergers and acquisitions
• Technology
• Consulting / advisory services

• Advanced problem-solving skills, curiosity and creative thinking
• Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in delivering high-quality reports and presentations
• Adept at building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients
• Driven, but with high EQ   
• Proficient at Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
