The Platforms Practice specializes in mission-critical, intelligent platforms for the world’s most ambitious organizations. Using our product-driven, AI-centric approach, we empower organizations to build for the intelligent digital future. Our elite team of product leaders, data scientists, designers, and software engineers enable our clients to solve their most complex product challenges and positively impact people and the world. Software engineers are problem solvers. While most have deep expertise in specific areas of the technology stack (front end, back end, data, security etc.), all are comfortable swimming across lanes. This is really important in delivering the product and platform outcomes that our customers expect.
In this role, you will identify and define user/customer requirements, focusing on developing user interfaces (UI) across various platforms such as mobile, web, and tablets. You will be responsible for creating software components and services that interact seamlessly with upstream and downstream components, ensuring that business requirements are met through effective coding and programming.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Application Designer and Developer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions. Your time will be spent on various responsibilities, including:
- Collaborating with clients to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring that the final product meets their needs.
- Designing and developing user interfaces that are not only functional but also enhance user experience.
- Writing clean, maintainable code and creating specifications that support business objectives.
Regular travel may be required to meet with clients, providing you with the opportunity to engage directly with stakeholders.

- Translate business requirements into technical design and architecture
- Develop prototypes and demos quickly
- Function as part of an agile delivery process
- Work on distributed systems problems ranging from scheduling, resource management, messaging, distributed caching and infrastructure automation

- Apply machine learning and AI systems to real-world business problems
- Build world-class user experiences across a range of interfaces
- Create automation systems for testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment

- Strong understanding of agile delivery and development methodologies.
- Proficiency in application development tools and quality assurance practices.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree).
- Typically, no less than 2 - 4 years relevant experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience with Angular or similar frontend frameworks
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Temporal
- Knowledge of Generative AI and building Agents
- Ability to design and implement robust APIs and microservices using Java, Python, FastAPI and OpenAPI
- Integrate authentication and authorization mechanisms using Keycloak, OAuth2, OIDC, and Azure Active Directory (AAD)
- Experience with Data Visualization tools like: D3, Highcharts, Ploty.js, Ember Charts
- Experience using Commercial Dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) / unit testing
- Experience working on complex problems and in a complex codebase
- Knowledge of frontend “best practices” around page performance
Ideally, you’ll also have
- A passion for delivering commercial software products and platforms to market
- Be deeply technical and constantly in a state of learning
- Able to communicate clearly and efficiently with a variety of audiences including developers, clients, customers, partners and executives
- Fearless in getting “hands-on” with technology and execution
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering processes
- Deep understanding and interest in cloud and distributed systems architectures
- Comfortable with ambiguity with a drive for clarity
- Experience leading and growing technical talent (for software engineering managers)
- Experience in complex problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Strong emotional agility and the ability to collaborate in hybrid environments.
- A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,500 to $187,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,900 to $213,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
