The opportunity

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior to join our FSO Insurance Tax practice in Bermuda. Working with dedicated professionals in the insurance industry, you will be involved in dynamic tax compliance projects to develop your tax technical knowledge.

Your key responsibilities 

As a senior in our insurance tax practice, you will be responsible for tax compliance and advisory work for clients across the BBC and our global network. You will work on key client issues in domestic federal, international and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. You will manage tax compliance accounts for general insurers, reinsurance, and captive insurance companies. You will also be responsible for relationship management. Relationship management includes: building lasting professional relations with key employees of clients; managing the staffing and economics of engagements; and analyzing engagement results to continue to provide exceptional client service to our Insurance clients.

• Strong technical knowledge in the insurance tax area
• The ability to teach or assist with firm in-house trainings
• Build impactful relationships with new and existing clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership
• Create a positive and trusting environment where team members know each other and feel a part  of their team
• Able to identify key tax technical issues and raise the appropriate questions before the work is sent for review to the partner or senior manager – and consult when necessary
• Managing multiple work assignments and deadlines

To qualify for the role you must have

• A Bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance or a business discipline, and a minimum of 8 years of relevant tax experience; or an advanced degree in tax or law and a minimum of 7 years of relevant tax experience
• A CPA (or equivalent internationally recognized accounting designation), Enrolled Agent and/or LLM certification, or the ability to obtain either/or within one year of employment
  Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and SSAP 101
  Income tax support for audits and income tax experience for Insurance companies as well as C Corporations

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
• SEC experience
• Proven experience in managing teams and client relationships
