Your key responsibilities

As our Indirect Tax Senior Manager / Director, you'll lead high-performing teams, provide trusted GST advisory services to leading financial services organisations, and work directly with clients to navigate complex tax challenges, unlock value, and drive sustainable business outcomes.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of financial services clients, advising on technical GST issues, GST risk management, governance, and planning opportunities across the tax lifecycle.
• Partner with clients to identify and resolve complex indirect tax issues while delivering practical, commercially focused solutions.
• Leverage emerging technologies, data analytics and automation tools to enhance GST compliance, risk management and reporting processes, including data interrogation to identify risks and opportunities.
• Guide clients through ATO reviews and assurance programs, drawing on a deep understanding of the ATO's Justified Trust framework.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand service offerings and develop innovative solutions that deliver measurable value.
• Lead, coach and develop talented indirect tax professionals, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
• Contribute to the growth of the practice through business development, thought leadership, market engagement, and leveraging existing networks to create new opportunities.

Skills and attributes for success

• Substantial GST experience gained within a professional services accounting firm, law firm, revenue authority, or a large financial services organisation.
• Strong technical GST expertise, with the ability to translate complex legislative and regulatory requirements into practical, commercial advice for clients.
• Strong leadership capability, with a track record of driving market-facing initiatives, leading complex client engagements and building high-performing teams.
• A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and leveraging technology to deliver better client outcomes.
