SR Director of Product Management, Windows API Platform

Windows PC is a development and target platform for millions of software developer community. These developers represent multiple use cases, needs and challenges. To make Snapdragon Compute platformdeveloper ready and to provide developers theaccess to all the capabilities of Snapdragon, it is important to provide a well thought and developer friendly API platform.With Snapdragon differentiating technologies like Camera, Sensors, A/V, etcbecome even moreimportant to ensure the power of the hardware is utilized by the ecosystem. More so these APIs need to be complimentary to the offerings in the existing complex Windows PC ecosystem. The role will be central to this movement.

The successful candidate will have a goodunderstanding ofCore IP technologies like Camera, Audio,Video, Sensors as well developer technologies likeWindows APIs, SDKs,tools and dependencies across consumer/enterprise segments of developers.She/he will have hands-on experience and knowledge about the Microsoft and competition offerings in the area ofAPIs. She/he will work with the internal stakeholders (core technology leads, product, engineering, marketing, business, and program management) and external developerstoput together the right requirements and plan for the API platform, SDKs, libraries and toolsand features for Compute.She/he will engage with developers and industry partners to analyze new APIs and technical opportunities - new software/hardware requirements, drive execution, and support the go-to-market plans and ISVadoption.

The position requires understanding of PC and Windows, knowledgeoftechnical and business sides of software and application development, proven track record ofcross-functional leadership with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The role also requires AI tools, technology and ecosystem knowledge.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Does a thorough market and technical competitive analysis to identifycurrent Qualcomm’s API offerings and gaps. Interact with Microsoft, OEMs, developers and industry experts, partners, to understandtheir products/roadmaps/strategies,competition, and overall market. Conducts a thoroughAPI market analysis.

• Works with internaltounderstand the Qualcomm software stack and APIs offered for different IP blocks (Camera, A/V, NPU, LPI, GPU, GPS..) and what other platforms like mobile expose today.

• Defines a comprehensive productroadmap and planwith a clear articulation of what APIs Qualcomm should provide and by when, aligns across IP software teams and creates a product definition. 

• Working with multiple product management, engineering, program, marketing, and other business stakeholders executes on the roadmap creating a strong technology impact. Oversees a successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring the completion of milestones ensuring the completed work aligns with roadmap for a product line(s).

• Develops a strong product GTM strategyfor these APIs to developers through SDK and driverupdates by working with internal partners, Microsoft and external customers like OEMs and developers.

• Influences external developer/partner integrations and solutions by advocatingfor Windows on Snapdragon APIs and Qualcomm technologies.

• Drivesa product launch strategies for new products and technologies through technical marketing opportunities such as conferences, congresses, and direct customer contact and ensures successful product launch.

• Prepares and delivers highly complex and high-stakes technicalpresentationsto internal and external developer audiences regarding product roadmaps that explain and demonstrate products to customers and integrates customer feedback into project roadmaps.

• Completing tasks that require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; tasks require simultaneously executing multiple cognitive abilities and maintaining information in short- or long-term memory.

• Regularly determines what needs to be done and is involved with sharing innovative solutions to achieve broad policies and objectives.

• Using deductive and inductive problem solving, multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years of product management experiencein the area ofAPIs, SDKs and developer products.

• Hands on experience developing Windows APIs and key IP technologies such as Camera, Audio, Video, AI, etc.

• Relevant knowledge of:

• x86/Windows ecosystem. 

• AI, Gen-AI technologies,developer tools, workflows, frameworks

• Embedded technologies -CPU/GPU/codecsor related software.

• Experience managing, influencing, negotiatingwith internal audience.

• Experience working in a large matrixed organization.
