As an Electrical Engineer intern, you will design, develop, modify and evaluate components used in electronic devices that involve the manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity. This opportunity will allow you to define design approaches, implementation schedules, technical specifications and parameters for devices. You will partake in selecting materials and components based on analysis of specifications and reliability. You will help develop test plans and direct support personnel, or other engineers, in the preparation and execution of design testing or prototype fabrication. Academic credit may be available through the Microsoft Intern Program; university-specific requirements beyond academic credit are not supported. This internship opportunity begins 1 Feb, 2027 and spans a six-month period.

Responsibilities
- Develops design documentation for well-defined features and review supplier or partner technical sheets. Analyzes data analyses to identify common flaws in feature or product designs.
- Ensures that documentation includes test requirements, determine appropriate test equipment, and carries out test plans on standard features or products. Collects data for external testing, as well as helps develop test fixtures for new feature testing and validation.
- Follows implementation schedules for a feature or product while highlighting potential downstream issues. Helps implement risk assessments and communicate progress within the team.
- Helps create detailed reports for a product feature or extension. This will include documenting essential details and accurate recording and tracking design changes with guidance.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.
Additional or Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) of technical engineering experience
- OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,690.00 - $11,210.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $7,410.00 - $12,250.00 per month.
