Vice President, EMEA & APAC Employment Tax Specialist

Role Summary

The EMEA & APAC Employment Tax Specialist is responsible for providing subject matter expertise, oversight and advisory support on employment tax matters across multiple jurisdictions within EMEA and APAC. The role supports compliant, accurate and efficient delivery of employment tax obligations, while helping to identify, assess and mitigate tax-related risks affecting payroll, employee mobility, benefits, expenses and broader people-related processes.

This role is expected to operate as a regional specialist and trusted partner across Payroll, People Team, Finance, Legal, Risk and other stakeholders. The role requires strong technical judgement, disciplined execution and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business actions. Key Responsibilities

Provide employment tax expertise and advisory support across EMEA and APAC, covering matters such as payroll taxation, employee benefits, expenses, equity-related tax considerations, mobility-related employment tax impacts and employer reporting obligations.

Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across relevant jurisdictions and assess potential impacts to BNY processes, controls and obligations.

Partner with Payroll, the People Team, Finance, Legal, Mobility, Risk and external advisers to support compliant and consistent employment tax treatment and implementation of regulatory changes.

Identify, analyse and help mitigate employment tax risks through strong governance, documentation, control design and issue resolution.

Support tax authority enquiries, audits, reviews and requests for information, ensuring responses are accurate, timely and appropriately coordinated.

Drive process improvement and operational efficiency by identifying themes, simplifying activity where appropriate and supporting scalable, well-controlled solutions across the region.

Maintain clear documentation of tax positions, processes, risk assessments and stakeholder decisions in line with governance and control requirements.

Support delivery discipline through effective planning, prioritisation, follow-through and escalation of risks or issues where needed.

Contribute to the development of less experienced colleagues by sharing knowledge, providing guidance and promoting best practice.

Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure employment tax considerations are understood and incorporated into business activity and change initiatives.

Experience / Qualifications

Significant experience in employment tax, payroll tax, expatriate tax or related areas, ideally across multiple EMEA and APAC jurisdictions.

Strong understanding of employment tax compliance, reporting obligations, controls and risk considerations in a complex international environment.

Experience partnering with multiple stakeholders across Payroll, Finance, Legal, People Team and Risk functions.

Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, business-relevant guidance and actions.Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, timely outcomes in a controlled environment.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.

Experience supporting audits, reviews, regulatory change implementation or process transformation activity is advantageous.

Relevant professional qualification in tax, accounting, payroll or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
