Senior Vice President, Regulatory Management & Governance - Risk & Compliance

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President, Regulatory Management & Governance.

Join HSBC’s Singapore Regulatory Compliance team in a senior role reporting to the Head of Regulatory Compliance, Singapore. You will strengthen regulatory management across HSBC’s regulated entities and play a key role in understanding supervisory priorities, shaping regulatory engagement approaches and supporting responses to significant regulatory matters. Combining regulatory insight with disciplined execution, you will help senior management anticipate emerging concerns and engage effectively with regulators. The role also contributes to conduct risk oversight and fair customer outcomes. 

In this role you will: 

• Maintain and enhance Singapore’s regulatory management framework, providing consistent governance across HSBC’s regulated entities and alignment with Group policies and standards.
• Oversee regulatory horizon scanning, assess developments from MAS and other relevant authorities, and translate consultations, regulatory changes and supervisory expectations into practical advice and priorities.
• Strengthen the regulatory inventory and change management lifecycle, covering applicability and impact assessments, clear ownership, implementation oversight, closure validation and timely escalation of gaps or delays.
• Maintain a consolidated view of significant regulatory interactions across HSBC Singapore, identifying shifts in supervisory priorities, recurring concerns and emerging expectations, and advising the Head of Regulatory Compliance on their implications and appropriate responses.
• Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory engagement strategy, positioning and messaging; support preparation for key supervisory meetings; and coordinate material, cross-business or escalated regulatory responses, with accountable businesses and functions retaining ownership of technical content and delivery. Advise the Head of Regulatory Compliance and senior stakeholders through concise management information, committee papers and thematic reporting that explain key risks, implications and recommended actions.
• Support conduct risk oversight through advice, monitoring of emerging themes, development of meaningful metrics and escalation of concerns, helping businesses and functions embed conduct expectations and fair customer outcomes.
• Partner with business, functional and Compliance colleagues locally, regionally and globally to deliver selected regulatory initiatives, provide constructive challenge and improve regulatory management processes, tools and ways of working.

To be successful you will need:  

• Significant experience in regulatory compliance, regulatory change, regulatory policy, regulatory engagement or related control functions within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore’s financial services regulatory environment and MAS supervisory expectations, together with an understanding of conduct risk, fair customer outcomes and related governance requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory management frameworks, including impact assessment, implementation governance, ownership allocation, progress tracking and issue escalation.
• Demonstrated experience supporting senior management in regulatory engagements, including preparing briefings and responses, exercising judgement on sensitive supervisory matters and interpreting regulatory feedback to inform management action.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
• A proactive, collaborative approach, combining strategic thinking with attention to detail, independent judgement and disciplined delivery in a complex matrix environment; familiarity with HSBC’s governance and systems would be an advantage.
