Detection & Investigation Associate: Enterprise Fraud

As a Detection & Investigation Associate within PNC's ENTERPRISE FRAUD DETECTION organization, you will be based in Louisville, KY, Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL.

Monday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm EST

In office.

This team has multiple responsibilities related to Retail Application Fraud Detection, Retail

Suspicious Account Activity Detection, Retail Incoming ACH Review, and Research.

• Retail Application Fraud Detection – utilizing device information (for mobile) and previously identified attributes to identify suspicious account opening attempts for further fraud review.

• Retail Suspicious Account Activity Detection – reviewing suspicious post account opening activity for, new and established accounts, as well as other suspicious online login activity.

• Retail Incoming ACH Review– reviewing suspicious ACH transactions for possible fraud.

• Research & Support

Support on previous detected fraudulent account openings or activity through link analysis.

Support for emerging fraud trend review and fraud ring activity

Intelligence leads from external agencies to identify potentially fraudulent activity or account holders and to assist with data that may assist law enforcement on identifying criminal activity.

Analyst Responsibilities:
• Sign in on time, ready to work
• Review accounts for potential ID Theft, Account Take over or potential First Party Fraud
• Review accounts with suspicious ACH transactions that may be a result of fraud coming from illicit activity
• Make decisions based on analysis, trends and patterns
• Fraud loss mitigation
Work as an individual making fraud related decisions with minimal help needed from management in the decision making process
• Must have ability to work with other service partners in relation to fraud cases, reviews, reports, and rules
• Be a team partner in completing all work functions assigned to the team
• Actively participate in meetings, coaching, and conversations with leadership, other team members and service partners
• Ability to see patterns and trends in relation to logic and rules of potential fraud.
• Take on stretch assignments
• Assist with build out of new processes

Job Description

• Responsible for investigation and/or mitigation of suspicious bank activity, control and prevention of losses related to fraud, AML and /or organizational risk.
• Based on root cause, assists in the development and implementation of internal controls to identify suspicious and/or prevent illegal activities and to recover any incurred losses, which may be significant. Identifies gaps and control enhancements that at times have a large monetary impact on the organization.
• Independently works with internal and external stakeholders (local, state and federal authorities, agencies and other financial institutions) on matters relating to fraudulent/illegal activities where appropriate.
• Performs the investigation of identified activity. Makes determination as to whether the activity is reportable or requires additional escalation, based on standard criteria and/or independent judgment. Completes the required documentation.
• Prepares and maintains appropriate documentation of investigation performed.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $52,500.00 – $96,250.00Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
