About the Role

This is your opportunity to step into a dynamic leadership role at the heart of Swiss Re's global finance operations. As Accounts Payable Team Leader, you'll lead a team of 9 skilled professionals, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and travel expense activities across Swiss Re locations worldwide. You'll be a key player in shaping how global finance operations run - influencing processes, driving transformation, and developing the next generation of finance talent. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire a team of 9 professionals, ensuring timely and accurate handling of accounts payable and travel expense activities across global Swiss Re locations 
• Identify, develop, and retain talent through coaching, performance management, career development conversations, and succession planning
• Drive operational stability by meeting critical deadlines including reconciliations, quarterly closings, and timely supplier payments
• Partner closely with fellow Team Leaders and global stakeholders to align priorities, share best practices, and deliver consistent, high-quality service across the organisation
• Liaise with local offices and suppliers to ensure all invoices are properly accounted for in line with local requirements and paid on time
• Participate in and contribute to global projects and finance transformation initiatives, bringing fresh ideas and solutions to improve how things are done
• Support your team with day-to-day queries, removing blockers and enabling them to deliver on set targets 
• Represent the team at workshops, cross-functional and cross-location meetings, building strong relationships with other Swiss Re departments
• Leverage finance systems and data to support decision-making, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement 

About the Team

Our Accounts Payable & Travel Expenses team is a diverse, collaborative group of finance professionals based in Bratislava, supporting Swiss Re locations around the world. We are responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and employee travel expense reimbursements and reconciliation. Work that is critical to maintaining Swiss Re's strong reputation with suppliers and ensuring a positive experience for our colleagues globally.

About You 

You are a confident, empathetic leader who brings both operational rigour and a genuine passion for people development. You communicate clearly and authentically, build trust across diverse teams and stakeholders, and are comfortable navigating a complex, international environment. You bring a continuous improvement mindset and are not afraid to challenge the status quo when better solutions are possible. 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

• University degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in a Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader capacity, ideally within a finance or shared services environment
• Fluent English communication skills — both written and verbal — with strong presentation abilities (any other European language is an advantage)
• Hands-on experience with finance systems and data analysis, with the ability to use data to drive decisions, identify trends, and support continuous improvement
• Proven ability to manage operational processes including accounts payable, travel expenses, reconciliations, or similar finance operations 

These are additional nice to haves: 

• Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Track record of leading or contributing to process improvement or automation initiatives
• Experience with stakeholder management across multiple geographies and time zones
• A natural coaching and mentoring style with a genuine interest in developing others 

For Slovakia, the base salary range for this position is between 1.800 Eur and 3.000 Eur for a full-time role.

• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience 

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements.
