ENGINEER ASSOCIATE
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer Associate to support the development and integration of electromechanical systems for naval defense applications, specifically focusing on the MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS). The ideal candidate will assist in design, drawing creation, test, and troubleshooting of automated test equipment and its devices while ensuring compliance with industry and military standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical development, evaluation, integration, and certification of subsystems and test equipment.
- Interpret, modify, or create 3D solid models and 2D engineering drawings.
- Develop technical documentation such as mechanical assembly drawings, drawing trees, parts lists, schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and engineering change proposals.
- Present technical data for assessment, review, and certification.
- Work closely with management, engineering, and quality teams to ensure valuable and on-time deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Analyze, modify, or replace various critical components/subsystems that have passed functional service life.
- Perform system-component level root cause analysis, feasibility, and reliability studies.
- Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance testing of electromechanical devices including power distribution, control systems, and communication interfaces.
- Support laboratory and field-testing activities, including system verification and validation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant military and industry standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 years minimum of relevant experience
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge creating 3D CAD models in Solidworks
- Working knowledge producing 2D drawings in Solidworks and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with electronics boxes, test racks, cables, and connector interfaces
- Ability to produce well-constructed technical documentation
- Facilitate reviews of written information and technical data
- Capable of working and communicating in a cross functional team
