The opportunity
We are seeing an Assistant Director who will be responsible for helping to lead, develop and grow EY’s global 1st
line of defense compliance processes. The role will be part of the Global Delivery Services (GDS) Risk
Management Services (RMS) service function who provide enablement services to the EY network, including risk
management. The opportunity is to join the GDS RMS Financial Crime Team who is responsible for the execution
of financial crime prevention controls across the EY network.
Reporting to RMS Financial Crime Leader and RMS Philippines Location Leader, the Assistant Director will be
responsible for supporting the daily operations for enablement activities which supports compliance with Anti
Money Laundering (AML) and Economic and Trade Sanctions compliance. The successful delivery of outcomes
will require the Assistant Director to help continually develop and improve the teams, processes and technology
which form part of the compliance programme. The role will include providing guidance and leadership to a team
of analysts who will be responsible for the collection, review and analysis of Client Due Information (CDD),
alongside the evaluation of information that underpins sanctions compliance.
The Assistant Director will have the opportunity to work closely with the Global Executive Financial Team who is
responsible for the creation and implementation of all global Financial Crime policies and procedures. Travel may
be required on occasion to support meetings and strategic exercises.
Your key responsibilities
• Lead a team of financial crime analysts who are responsible for the successful and timely review of CDD
for new and existing clients.
• Oversee the timely completion of work in line with agreed SLAs, identifying bottlenecks early and
applying mitigations as needed.
• Lead the execution of day-to-day operations including capacity planning and workload management.
• Review higher risk clients and suggest mitigations and next steps as necessary to support compliance.
• Lead conversations with key stakeholders (Country Risk Management leaders and/or client servers) to
build strong relationships and position the GDS as trusted advisors.
• Organize periodic and regular meetings with the Global Executive and country stakeholders to provide a
summary of team metrics, including turnaround times, volumes, team performance and any risks.

• Contribute to the creation of a culture where the team can openly raise questions and queries including
suggestions for process or operational enhancements.
• Proactively identify new and different ways of working where this will increase team efficiency, simplify
processes or better enable client handlers.
• Maintain a deep subject matter knowledge of financial crime, including upcoming changes in global
regulations affecting AML or Counter Terrorist Financing.
• Provide regular reports and updates to the Financial Crime sub-service function leader and RMS
Philippines Location Leader on operational performance, key risks, issues, and priorities.
• Undertake ad hoc roles and responsibilities within the Financial Crime sub-service function and/or RMS
Philippines location, as business needs require.
Qualification, Skills, and attributes for success
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
• At least 10 years of overall work experience, including a minimum of five years of professional experience in
financial crime compliance, with a focus on AML, Counter-Terrorist Financing, Anti-Bribery and Corruption,
or a combination of these areas.
• Strong practical knowledge of AML and CDD procedures, including end-to-end client onboarding, research
across different client types, and screening for sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), and adverse
media.
• Demonstrated experience handling higher-risk clients, assessing compliance risks, and recommending
appropriate mitigations and next steps.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into
clear, practical guidance.
• At least two years of recent experience leading and developing a team, including coaching, performance
management, and operational oversight.
• Professional qualifications or certifications in AML, Counter-Terrorist Financing, or a related financial crime
discipline are an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior
and global stakeholders.
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity,
and professional ethics.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills, combined with a collaborative and solution
oriented approach.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
