The Role
As an Associate, Financial Reporting, you will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of CPP Investments’ financial reporting processes. You will enhance our current "best in class" reporting to contribute to CPP Investments' reputation of integrity through transparent disclosure of financial information to management, Board of Directors, and our external stakeholders.
The Team
Accountabilities
- Independently lead the completion of annual financial statements, including financial statement notes, in accordance with IFRS and local reporting standards.
- Coordinate legal entity annual audits, including managing timelines, deliverables, and the resolution of financial statement issues with external auditors.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support the timely and accurate production of financial statements and financial information within the general ledger.
- Review financial statements prepared by third-party service providers for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with CPP Investments policies and standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes.
- Own and coordinate ongoing and ad hoc legal entity management activities across CPP Investments' APAC entities, including corporate and regulatory filings and governance activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to support reporting, governance, and operational objectives.
What You Bring
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field such as Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- 5+ years of experience in financial reporting within the investment management, pension fund, or financial services industry.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Proven experience with corporate, financial, and regulatory filing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and the ability to quickly understand internal controls over financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with GenAI tools and automation is considered an asset.
